⚡ 💀 💕 / 🤘 "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" has five "e's", five "r's", and five exclamation marks in a row. That adds up to fifteen, the age of the girl in the song who is attending her first heavy concert on her 15th birthday. BABYMETAL's lead singer, Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto, or Su) was still only 14 when she recorded this song, and when this music video was released. The video release day (June 20th, 2012) was Yuimetal's 13th birthday. The single was released on Moametal's 13th birthday (July 4th, 2012).

I recommend 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' live at Sonisphere UK 2014 for an old song. 'BxMxC' for a new one. They recorded their first song on Oct 30 2010.

Good reaction - and yes this is a great song ... you should check out a live version too, it is even better live. Here's a good one kzbin.info/www/bejne/h3bWgJSDl7N5rdk Yes this is one of their earliest songs - they started in October 2010 and just celebrated their 10th anniversary. It was Yui who left the band (she was on the right as you looked at the screen when you paused the video and asked). She last appeared on stage in October 2017. It was announced at the last minute before legend S in December 2017 (Su's 20th birthday shows in Hiroshima) that under her doctor's advice she would not be performing. She was still missing when the 2018 tour started and in October 2018 she finally announced that she was still not well enough to perform and would be leaving the band and hoped to pursue her own long held dreams. You've only seen about half a dozen songs so far I think and all were official videos - we need to get you onto the live performances where they are really at their best. I've already posted a link to 'Headbanger' live at Legend 1997 (Su's 16th birthday show in December 2013). Another early song would be 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' live at Sonisphere UK 2014. There is a long story about that performance and how it was their break through appearance at their first major event outside of Asia. 'Catch Me If You Can' live at Budokan Black Nigbht or live at Legend 1997 (please do not use the live compilation video that has most views) really mixes the brutal metal with the cute vocals and choreo perfectly. 'Rondo of Nightmare' live at Budokan Black Night (make sure it is a 7 minute video so you get the Mischiefs of the Metal Gods intro to see the Kami Band doing what they do first). The song is a Su-metal solo, you won't see Yui and Moa in this one. Something newer - 'Distortion' live at Download UK 2018 (no Yui, she was off sick for that tour, so there were two dancers on stage) Other newer songs - you won't find live versions on KZbin unless you use compilation videos and I wouldn't normally recommend them, but the Zimmer channel has a couple of good ones for 'Starlight' and 'Shine'.

I remember seeing DOKI DOKI MORNING (their first song) in KZbin back in 2012. Before that I've never heard of Babymetal although they've already around since 2010 apparently. Seems they're finishing their Sakura Gakuin obligations before going on their own. They didn't go on world tours before 2014. Why didn't we hear more from them until recently? I'm guessing part of it because the things happened in 2018. They picked up steam again in 2019 with Metal Galaxy. For the future, I believe 2021 is set to be an end of another era for them, and we'll see another form of Babymetal afterwards. Only the Fox God knows. :) Why not revisit IINE (2013), or KAGEROU (2019), or KINGSLAYER (2020). Thank you... ^^

First of all, you should not have to apologize to anyone for not uploading videos - there are things that are more important than KZbin, and your subscribers will be here, whether you make 1 or 100 videos a month :) Second, you are totally right about that there should be more attention to Japanese metal and music in general in "the west". Here in Denmark we could definitely use more of it too, partly to expand our musical horizonts, partly to keep our "western" musicians from becoming stale and lazy and release the same kind of music again and again. But mostly because Japanese music is in my opinion just better right now and has been for a while - it's better written, performed and produced, and it is a damn shame, that there isn't more attention to it... Third, if you want some of their older stuff, why not start with the first song, they made: "Doki Doki Morning" is a fun song, that mixes metal and pop, which they do absolutely brilliantly (they were originally part of a pop-idol group called Sakura Gakuin, and Babymetal was made as a sub-unit under this, so they know how to do pop really well). I'm quite sure, that you would also like "Rondo of Nightmare with the Mischiefs of the metal gods", as it showcases Su's voice and the talented musicians that are the Kami Band. I would also recommend that you listen to "No rain, no rainbow", which is an amazingly beautiful ballad, that always leaves tears in my eyes! And for something newer, I would suggest "Da Da Dance", "Arkadia", "Night Night Burn", just to avoid what everyone else will be saying ;) Best wishes and stay safe, my man!
