Ok, I get it. Babymetal are getting older - but that is part of their charm. We have seen them grow up and mature ( and get even better!). Wanna start a new band? Great, on the evidence of BM, that will be awesome BUT no-one will or can replace BM so find some new material for the new group and leave BM songs to the originals please! I don't personally care if they sing Doki Doki Morning or Headbanger when they are 40!!!

I think they will launch their original songs under METALVERSE name well they never specifically mentioned that METALVERSE is Chibi-Metal, but we'll have to see in 20th Aug

Seems from the comments some Baby Metal fans have evolved into elitists themselves. Many still gripe about the two Kami Bands. Many still gripe about the concept album and the direction it went. Now they are griping about this new venture. BabyMetal was never about being mainstream or being like the rest in the metal world.

I agree. This setup also allows for up to 6 singers a once. Which could make for some really interesting group vocals. Even if Chibi and OG Kami band did the older songs, and the new Kami and Su, Moa and Momomko only did the newer songs, It would be a good direction for them. Additionally, people need to let it go about Yui. It's 99% likely she isn't coming back.

Babymetal is the original. Thirteen years now they have been together. Chibi metal is a tribute band to the early years when Babymetal did primarily Kawaii Metal (They invented Kawaii Metal). Many of us came late to the party and never had a chance to see Babymetal live when they were in this younger phase. We only have videos. Chibi Metal provides a semblance of this experience. Just like Elvis and The Beatles it was inevitable that a tribute band would spawn since Babymetal is the single most musically important band since the Beatles. Babymetal has now matured and continues to push the boundaries of Metal. It's what we as fans expect and are, for the most part, grateful to see.

Well, if they are replacing BM because they are too old (idol groups do that), I am out. I'll follow Su when she goes solo or joins a new group (she is the real star and talent). But BM outgrew the dumb kawaii thing years ago and have only gotten better for it. Dumb.
