Anyway here's some info about this song: One of the discovered 10 parallel worlds is "LIGHT AND DARKNESS" and this 4th pre-release digital single “Light and Darkness” centers around this theme. Because light exists, darkness also exists. And because darkness is present, there is also a world that shines. During the night when light and darkness intersect, what we seek after poisoned with darkness awaits a world filled with strong love. As the door opens, is it hope or despair that awaits us? The song expresses the duality in everything and the way things are perceived and interpreted differ depending on each person’s point of view. This was a world premiere at Makuhari Messe 2023 setlist, along with "THE LEGEND", Momoko Okazaki is the third backup dancer and possibly the new official member. Good reaction. I've said this on some other reactions, but I feel this album, concept aside, is highlighting Su-metal's vocals more than anything and possibly more than has been the case in the previous albums - they each had maybe three or four songs that really did that, this one so far every song has done it. Of the four songs released so far 'Monochrome' is my own favourite. 'Metal Kingdom' and by 'Divine Attack' work well together for the concert openers. This one is still growing on me, but I know to wait for the live version.

The production team behind this song is the same team that created Shine, a production team whose goal is to break the stereotypes of metal. This time they added elements of CITY POP and brought back the vivid colors of love to the world that lost its colors with monochrome and never let go of that love! They sang about a world full of love😊. But still, where does SU get his breath 😊It's a busy song for vocalists 😁. The dancing is beautifully synchronized and the crystal clear voice is mesmerizing. The KAMI band was going wild in the background😁. I spent the first day in front of the band stage on the north side, so I was very happy😊on the contrary, I was happy to see their performance properly in this music video and enjoy it twice 😃.

Good reaction, thanks! The ironic thing is that this song will never go mainstream. 😁 "Light and Darkness" is definitely so far away from my musical preferences. I'm still not sure about it (it's a studio recording anyway), but I already find several cool elements like that unexpected note during the chorus or that part with the double time you mentioned. Also Su-metal's amazing vocals although a little too overproduced for my personal taste, but I can live with it... until we get an actual live version. 🤘‍🦊

Another disappointing song from BABYMETAL. Where's the metal? Where's the kawaii? Where's the mosh'sh pits? Where's the crowd participation? WHERE'S THE FUN? BABYMETAL made metal fun - not any more. Now they are just another metal band, and I seriously wonder if calling them "metal" is accurate. Now don't get me wrong: I love BABYMETAL. I will be the first to say that Suzuka Nakamoto has a wonderful voice but, aside from that, I'm very disappointed with the direction that BABYMETAL has taken. Their first two albums and most of their third made metal music fun. But they aren't "BABYMETAL-ish" any more. They've devolved into a J-pop band. Aside from "Divine Attack", there's nothing metal about them so far. And being kawaii and metal was what made BABYMETAL BABYMETAL! It's seems to me that they're trying too hard to make "epic" music when they need to get back to what made them great: songs that made you bang your head with a big, sh*t-eating grin on your face. Finally, thus far, I get the feeling that this shouldn't have been a BABYMETAL album; it should have been a Suzuka Nakamoto solo album featuring Moa Kikuchi. But that probably wouldn't have sold as many albums. 😭😭😭

first did you forget why they started? they blended J-pop and metal to help fans like metal which they have done. this is a concept album so to me it is ok to go different. i am sure all 10 songs will blend together nicely. this song will bring new fans into metal. at this show there were mosh pits and lots of crowd participation. and you should never put Babymetal in a box doing one thing only. just my opinion.

@@raycollins511 Perhaps YOU have forgotten why they started: Key Kobayashi (Kobametal) was concerned with the lack of interest in METAL music and decided to put a new spin on it by combining metal with J-pop thus creating BABYMETAL. Clearly his concern was justified because now his brain-child is no longer metal. They have abandoned their roots and reason for being in the first place. I sincerely hope that remaining songs on the album are more metal than metal. And this song (along with two of the other three) won't be attracting very many metal-heads.

​@@Filboid2000, I don't hear any difference in your criticism than from the trve metal elitist hate from the last decade. I agree with Ray on this, one should not put Babymetal in a box, not even a metal one.
