Good one, thanks! "MAYA" is a banger and that's an amazing live performance. They are promoting the Blu-rays of these concerts (BABYMETAL Begins, Black and Clear Night) and the live album. 🤘🦊

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 This song was played 9 times during their North American tour with DETHKLOK (29 gigs in USA & Canada). [FYI : I witnessed this very performed live with West (American) Kami Band at the venue. Japanese fans always appreciate the devoted support by Chris, CJ, Anthony and Clint (Ryan replaced now). I can't explain how amazing it was with my English vocabulary. 😍] Regarding "Maya", Su said in an interview "The lyrics in English 'How would you know ... is all an illusion' is not the kind of expression that BABYMETAL have not had in the past." She added " When it comes to sound, I like a part where my voice seem to fade into fog but it does exist there" [source: magazine PMC vol. 27 page 40] Our queen has grown up into a lady with a philosophical viewpoint, I guess.

Good reaction. They will use the occasional English word or phrase in many of their songs, they do also have 2 songs exclusively in English ('From Dusk Till Dawn' and 'Believing') and 2 more with full English versions ('The ONE' and 'Elevator Girl'). Jake Muller already explained the references to Hindu myth and illusion with Maya ... each song on the album (The Other One) has its own theme - eg cavalry, illusion, smoke, mirror and so on. BABYMETAL Begins was the two concerts they played on 1st and 2nd April. They did 4 big shows at the start of the year - in January they returned from their hiatus and did two shows called BABYMETAL Returns, their first in nearly 2 years. On 1st and 2nd April they did these two shows - BABYMETAL Begins, Black Night (1st April) and Clear Night (2nd April). They are promoting the DVD/BluRay and the vinyl albums with the release of this video from Black Night and, from the Clear Night concert, 'Divine Attack - Shingeki'. Black Night was where they brought the original BABYMETAL to an end and Su-metal and Moametal were a duo supported by the Avenger Momoko for the last time. At the end of the concert they revealed "new" BABYMETAL - Su-metal, Moametal and their new third member Momometal. So Clear Night was their first concert as the new trio, they had their new shinier costumes and it was Momometal's first concert as an official member all mic'd up to sing as well as dance. Each night had a mostly different set list and over the two nights they played all the songs from the album 'The Other One' which they released in March.

Nice! “Maya” is actually a Sanskrit (Hindu) word for Magic / Illusion. My interpretation of lyrics: While not really clear what / who she is referring to, Babymetal elude to a “Magic” that deceives, bewitches, and vanishes if you try to hold onto it. Ultimately, making one question what is a true reality. Of course, I could be totally off lol. Look forward to more! 🤘🦊🤘🦊

Babymetal Begins was a two night concert. Black Night as the first show, Clear Night was the second. They often them their huge, special, multiple night concerts this way. During Black Night, Babymetal was still a duo (as they’d been since 2018) with a backup dancer (or “Avenger” as they’re called) Momoko Okazaki. At the end of Black Night, it was announced that she would become the newest member of Babymetal, and use the name “Momometal”. During Clear Night, the members got brand new outfits and performed a mostly different setlist. Momometal this time had her hair not in half up-half down with two twin buns (as was normal for the Avengers, or a specific set of 3 backup dancers), but instead was half up-half down with two smaller pony tails, reminiscent of Moametal’s pigtails to signify her becoming a member. She also finally had a microphone! The original line up was Su-Metal, Yuimetal, and Moametal. Yui left the group in 2018 due to health reasons, and we miss her very much. Momo was just added as a new member this year in April. In metali, which you reacted to already, she did the middle spoken word part. It was also the first studio song she’s participated in! I’m very excited to see what else she has in store for us!

Thanks for the info. Maybe Yui could come back and they could be a 4 member group. She seemed pretty cool

Welcome back to BabyMetal's metalverse 🦊🤘🌐 While you learn the name of the girls also you need to know that there's no space between the words, so it's just one word "BabyMetal" (stylized all in caps, I'm just avoiding using so much caps in the comments), or Babymetal or BM for short, and no this is not a new album they're promoting the DVD/BD of "BabyMetal Begins - The Other One live at PIA Arena MM Yokohama held in April 1st and 2nd, there were two nights Black Night (this one) and Clear Night, you'll see that with live sound in Divine Attack - Shingeki or Mirror Mirror and METALIZM official MV. This song belongs to latest album The Other One but it wasn't part of the 5 singles released prior to the album release already in March, although it becomes one of fans favorite from this album real fast. The nasty riffs reminds to "Ice Nine Kills - Rainy Day". Maya in Hindu myth is the representation of illusion (which is the theme in this song), so that's the reference and in this song MAYA works as the name of the illusion. Here's some official info: MAYA (ILLUSION) _Reality is an illusion. The truth may be a deception._ _It is a feeling as if you wandered in between the Real World and the Virtual World. It may be magic, or it may be an illusion._ The Western Kami Band playing this live at PIA Arena MM (April 1st) certainly gives some aggressive flavor and with MomoMetal now officially as a new member, just so you know this was performed during Black Night (that's why they're wearing the old battle dress from Metal Galaxy era), at the end of this night she was announced as MomoMetal, the night after this (Clear Night) they're wearing the new costume you can see at Mirror Mirror and METALIZM official MV. They've been rotating this song along with Mirror Mirror and Believing during The Babyklok Tour recently finished. See you next time 🦊🤘🎸

Nice reaction. Great that you're taking a look at Babymetal. They are a wonderful, uplifting, captivating group with a long career-recently celebrated 10 year anniversary. Babymetal's live performances are legendary and many of we fans recommend their live videos for reactions because it displays their skills more fully. That and the audience always adds tons of energy. Looking forward to more BM reactions. This is a wonderful foxhole-you'll find out-to journey down. Best wishes and well done. FYI: in Sanskrit MAYA is a word meaning illusion or magic. I believe that Babymetal is using that meaning here. They derive inspiration from many cultures.

⚡ 💕 🍑 / 🪬 🌀 Officially their names are Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto), Moametal (Moa Kikuchi) and Momometal (Momoko Okazaki). Former member Yuimetal (Yui Mizuno) left the group in October 2018 for health reasons. Note that only Su-metal has a "-" in her name. That indicates an extended "u" sound (long vowel).
