Metalizm is from their latest album (The Other One) which was released just over a month ago. The music video was recorded at their concerts between the 1st-2nd of April. What captivates me is the clear and melodic vocals by Su-metal and also the unique guitar solos. It's a very modern sounding song, but there are elements in the music and choreography that create an atmosphere of ancient Egypt. I'm really liking it!

Queen Su is narrating a tale of the King of Metal Kingdom and involves a lot of zumu zumu.🦊🤘🎸 And yep, this song is part of the latest album "The Other One" but it wasn't released as a single, there are 5 singles all of them with their own lyrics video, visualizer or official MV, this one is the second official MV with footage taken from April 2nd concert at PIA Arena MM Yokohama. Thanks for sharing this psytrance mixed with middle eastern vibes and the unique sound of BM. Fans are having a blast with this song at Sabaton's Europe Tour, hopefully you will one day too. You missed a lot not seeing them perform live their awesome live lot's of great courography ( none of it sexulised ) this being the latest release from their new concept album . BabyMetal mixes all genres of music with metal. Some you would never think would work, but they do . They are touring a lot this year it's easier to list where they won't be 🤣🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼

Great reaction. "METALIZMIZUMIZU" - great song - and yes it really is Arabian trance metal.🤘🦊🤘This is the latest video they have released, it is from the most recent album (along with 'Monochrome') that was released only a month or so ago. Up until now you have only heard a couple of their slower songs and the live performance you saw was the official video for 'The One', so you won't have witnessed the choreo they have for pretty much every song they do until now. This is just one of the things that makes them stand out (quite apart from being original, unique, innovative and incredibly talented and hard working). The choreo is bespoke for each song (they work with one of Japan's very best choreographers) and it serves two real purposes - it is not the sort of choreo you will see the vast majority of acts who use dance doing where they have scantily clad girls (and boys) mincing round, grabbing their crotches and giving you something to watch to take your mind off the music. BABYMETAL's choreo is usually related to the meaning of the song or a lyric and helps with interpretation for those of us who do not speak Japanese. More importantly it is designed to lead the audience to give them cues when to jump, pump their fists, shout and so on. The audience at a BABYMETAL concert become a big part of the show, the crowd participation is what the girls want to see. RAH22 has made good suggestions for more reactions - and BABYMETAL shine brightest in live performances for so many reasons.

Babymetal made Metalizm into a dubstep structured track; perhaps the least traditional "metal" song on the album, and then put the most shredding guitar solo you can play on top of it. Thank you Babymetal for always keeping us guessing.

It's not dubstep. To my ear it's psytrance and Kobametal described it in a PMC magazine interview as "a psytrance-based song with a club-like groove." It's got some industrial elements too, like that mechanical sound that pans left and right.

This is from their concert this month in Yokohama. One more time I will leave this for you below BabyMetal began in 2010 there were Suzuka Nakamoto age 12 Moa Kikuchi and Yui Mizuno (Yui left in 2018 due to health reasons). Both Moa and Yui were only 11 when the group began. All three were friends and classmates who attended an idol school (Sakura Gakuin) founded in 2010 by Amuse Talent Agency for girls 10 to 15. Themed around school life the girls would learn and train to be idols and graduate at age 15 to move onto whatever entertainment path they chose. Key Kobayashi was a music producer for Amuse and heard Suzuka sing at age 9 and was impressed with her strong vocals and stage presence. Kobayashi was a fan of heavy metal but believed that the genre had become stale and tired (especially in Japan) with metal bands getting old Kobayashi believed the genre needed to be reborn (BabyMetal means the birth of a new metal genre). Kobayashi felt that Suzuka had the ability to front a metal band and that her vocals and presence could withstand the metal guitars and drums. The fusion of Jpop and Metal began. He placed Moa and Yui as backup singers/dancers and a phenomenon was about to result. At first Amuse showed no interest and the girls had only financing from Kobayashi. They performed at strip malls and small venues using clothes borrowed from friends and family. No money for a real band they had friends dressed in homemade skeleton costumes pretending to play instruments to a backtrack. They became a sensation (these young ladies paid their dues) and Amuse saw the potential and in 2012 hired the best session musicians Japan had to offer (The Kami Band) who tours with them today (now includes world class musicians from the USA for tours outside of Asia). If you choose to explore more of BabyMetal I suggest reacting to LIVE performance videos as this is where they shine. They have over 50 LIVE songs/performances and each one is different. They are fearless exploring many genres and have the respect of the legends of Metal such as Metallica, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Judas Priest and more. Avoid Glastonbury LIVE performances as the sound production by the BBC (who was in charge of that festival did a terrible job - mics not turned on, incorrect volume levels, etc.) Suggest reacting to these for a start. Arabian psytrance metal! 🕺💃🤘 You hear "metarizumuzumuzumu" repeated a lot in two sections of the song where in the official lyrics the lines are represented each time by a single "METALIZM." The katakana pronunciation of METALIZM is メタリズム/Metarizumu. Metarizumuzumuzumu = メタリズム/Metarizumu (metal rhythm) + ズムズム/zumuzumu (thrumming (e.g., with excitement)).
