Momo's scream left me speechless. The three girls are always good for surprises. And that's what I love about babymetal. And let's keep one thing in mind. Besides her ability to scream like a Kaiju, Momo really does have a fantastic voice. 😆🤩

I was at Legend MM, so I got to see this very special one off performance in person. I was between the stage extension they're standing on and the AV desk, so I have a perfect view and perfect sound. It was an amazing performance and the crowd was hot. Since Legend MM was held to celebrate Momo's birthday, we were all expecting Momobanger, and Momo delivered! I guess you didn't know that Momo can death growl, and yet her clean vocals are so cute. She has brought a new element to Babymetal that they didn't have before. Momo calls her growls her "fangs" and they talked in a recent interview about their plans to use this new element in their songs going forwards. Yes, there is a Moabanger. It was held at Legend M in 2019 and it's amazing too. Definitely watch it when you get a chance.

I really hope someone can get a good version uploaded before too long so nobody has to use this compilation again (watching Su singing with Momoko's voice is really quite upsetting). 'Headbanger' is about a girl going to her first concert on her 15th birthday, but 15 is significant in Japan as compulsory education also ends, so the girl is realising life will never be the same. She is having to grow up, she will no longer be considered just a child and her first 15 years passed so quickly, so she etching this special night into her heart so she will never forget. There are other versions of 'Headbanger' from special occasions as well. The Legend D concert in December 2012 for Su-metal's own 15th birthday and the Legend 1997 concert in December 2013 celebrating Su-metal's 16th birthday both started with a (entirely lip-synced ... there was a reason for that relating to the lore etc that I won't go into here) dance remix version ('Headbanger - Night of 15 Re-Mix'). At concerts on or near their own 15th birthdays in 2014 Yui (in Paris) and Moa (in Cologne) took over lead vocals for 'Headbanger' half way through when Su handed them the mic and stand - she took their place in the choreo. Only fancam videos exist for those performances. The same thing happened again in 2019 at the Legend M concert celebrating Moametal's 20th birthday (20 is the official age of majority in Japan). Moa once again took over lead vocals after Su handed her the mic and stand - and the lyrics were changed to "...this special night of my 20th...". What you just listened to (and saw bits of) was the most recent special version in March this year at the Legend MM concerts celebrating Momometal's 21st birthday. Momobanger was on the day before her 21st (she was not an official member the year before so she did it to mark the last day when she was still 20).

.MomoBangyaaaaa!!!!! 🦊🤘🍑 She totally deserves this moment and she owns it with that growling and screamo (?). She played this only one time, the "20 Night". Anyway don't miss out the day after, "21 Night", singing "Momo Taro" which is Meta Taro with her singing certain parts of the song, she doesn't "growl" over there thou, only backing tracks. "Legend MM" at Yokohama Arena last March 2024 was celebrate MomoMetal's 21 Birthday. This live show is special just like they did with Legend M in 2019 (MoaMetal 20th Birthday) and Legend S 2017 (SuMetal 20th Birthday). Of course there's a MoaBanger and got her own flavor. Great reaction, thanks! That compilation is very confusing, though. It misses the usual live intro of the song, with Momometal entering the stage in a very spectacular way and also the prelude, when they played a kamishibai (animated intro) explaining briefly Momoko's story. I was there at the venue and it was one of my favorite moments from all the concerts I've been to (if not my favorite). They performed "Meta Taro" the next day with Momoko leading (and growling) again. I hope we will have a better version once the Blu-ray is released next month.

Haha yell yeah man! Legend MM was Momo’s 21st BDay show from a few months back. And yes, there is a “Moabanger” from 2019 (for her 20th). TRM: “Wow! You hear that scream from Su?!” Me: “Oh boy, he ain’t ready for Momo” Momozilla: “SURPRISE MUTHAF****!!” 🤣🤣 We got a true screamer in Babymetal, and Momo’s been displaying her “fangs” quite a bit now! Excited to see her master it and truly unleash it live!! 🤘🦊

Great reaction! This performance is the most outstanding, IMHO. After the "Legend MM" concerts were announced, there was SO much buzz all over the internet, if she will do "Headbangerrrrr!!!!", as it was some kind of tradition already. But her 20th birthday was missed, as she became full member the month after her 20th birthday, so everybody just HOPED for the performance you watched. That included the growls. We just hoped for it, we heard her growl the first time with the Metali! live version... And hell, she gave it to us! I think it was HER present to US, and she did awesome in this performance.

Going to see them for the 2nd time in November. Enjoy your reactions. In an interview they did say they will be incorporating Momometal's "fangs". She growls in Ratatata a few times. Glad to see them as popular as they have ever been. Have really loved seeing them literally grow up. 👍 👍 In RATATATATA Momo does the 2nd scream of "Are you ready?!!" and both screams of "Everybody!!!! " and like you say her actual singing voice is the most childlike of the three. She is a treasure that has unlocked a new side of BABYMETAL while helping to bring the fun as you can tell that Suzuka and Moa are so much more at ease and carefree. I believe they are all having the time of their lives.

Imagine, her growl is only going to get better! I really hope they start having her do more growling in future songs. I know they won't focus on it like some metal groups, but maybe as much as growling was used in RATATATA. BABYMETAL does have a few songs with a fair amount of growling, but they have always been by an unknown person and there was the song "Distortion" that featured growls by Alissa White-Gluz from Arch enemy.🤘🦊🤘

There are 6 major versions. HeadBanger MV, SuBanger97, MoaBanger, MomoBanger, YuiBanger, and an EMD (idol) version at the beginning of 97 concert. So at the 97 concert 2 headbangers are played. They are all special. 🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊 🖖❤

If you want more of Moa singing her and Yui has their own set of songs under “black Babymetal”. These songs are “GJ”, “Sis Anger”, “Song 4”, and “Onedari Daisakusen” GJ and Sis anger are good starters. If you do Sis anger I suggest you put a logo over the screen or pause so it won’t get taken down

This compilation is a bit confusing but it's done that way to keep it from getting taken down or blocked. The full Momobanger, even the fancams, are getting taken down since it's a recent concert and the DVD/Blu-ray for the 2 day event (Legend MM 20 Night & 21 Night) will be on sale in July.🤘🦊🤘

If this ain't metal af, IDK what is!!!

I appreciate that someone spliced together several pieces of footage to make this pass copyright checks, but some of the footage makes it a little confusing, as it shows Su singing in several spots, though Momo is actually singing all the leads through the second half of this version. I don't know if you've seen but Moa has Moabanger, Yui has(had?) Yuibanger. Yui's version is very low quality. Moa did a few of Black Babymetal (Yui + Moa) songs at a show a few years back. Momo now has Momobanger.

I always enjoy your enthusiastic, heartfelt reactions. But who ever put this comp together. Whew, found it really kind of off putting. Hearing Momo's great, distinctive voice but seeing Su's image doing the singing? Really kind of off putting. It seems such a shame that there was-apparently-never an official video made of Momobanger. And yes there is a great Moabanger, IMHO much better done from a video perspective. Thanks very much for your thoughts and voice in this.
