This song is homage to XJapan Endless Rain. Su-Metal reluctantly doesn't want to sing it when it came out cos Su-Metal feels she hasn't captured the emotional feelings aspects of the song. Only on the Legend S concert did you can here the difference in Su-Metal voice and there's more emotions and sincerity in Su-Metal singing. No Rain No Rainbow always gets to reactors because it took them by surprise on how powerful Su-Metal vocal is. You can listen to Legend S concert version on your own as hear the difference and also the concert is stage in the hometown of Su-Metal Hiroshima.

⚡ / ☂️ 🌈 The guitarist on the right with the black headless guitar is Leda Cygnus. He is credited with the song arrangement on the 'Metal Resistance' album. Up to this point he had always been on stage whenever the song was performed. We used to say "No Leda, no 'No Rain, No Rainbow". The two most recent times it was performed were at the December 2017 'Legend S - Baptism XX' concerts in Hiroshima, for Su's 20th birthday. For those shows, the guitarists were Takayoshi Ohmura (seen in this video as well) and Mikio Fujioka, with his last BABYMETAL performances before his tragic death. The last line of this song translates as "An endless rain fills my heart… forever." This is a pretty clear reference to the classic X-Japan song 'Endless Rain'. On last New Year's Eve, Su and Moa joined Yoshiki and an all star cast of performers to perform 'Endless Rain' for the popular Kōhaku Uta Gassen show on Japanese TV.

Nice reaction - and what you'd read has already been spoken about so no need for me to repeat that ... I will endorse the fact that the Legend S version is even better. This has only been played live 5 times - Legend 1999 in June 2013, Budokan in March 2014, this time at Tokyo Dome in 2016 and both legend S shows in December 2017. It was not included on the first album because Su wasn't happy she was getting the emotion of the song right and that she was concentrating most on hitting the right notes and singing the right lyrics. It was only when she saw people in the audience crying that she realised her voice could effect people that way - and the song was included on the second album. BABYMETAL don't have filler songs, they just have different levels of really good to really great (and maybe beyond) and where each song is on that scale depends entirely on our own individual likes and preferences.

Nice & thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。We are moved by this song because we are human beings. No need to read the lyrics. I am a Japanese but my nationality and literacy do not have distinct advantages to feel the emotion stirred by this song. As other viewers have already mentioned, 2017 Legend-S version is another best performance probably because of the special situation (Su's hometown, her coming-of-age and Yui's absence).

I love almost all of their songs, but this one is so special in their repertoire. It's a very emotional metal ballad and the most beautiful song I can think of in this category. Su performs it masterfully and the guitars quite literally sing.

Like Chris Harris said this song is loved by fans Only things we argue over is which performance of it is best (cough Legend S) .Maybe some music journalists got something wrong yet again about BabyMetal . GJ on the reaction. One of the best rock ballads I've ever heard. I don't know Japanese and the song still moves me. Legend S version is the best one IMO. But who knows when we'll hear Su sing it again? With the tenth anniversary concerts they may just do all of their songs. Which, would be amazing. I hope at the end of the concert series they announce a new album.

People got it wrong actually no rain no rainbow is a direct tribute to x japan's endless rain. I personally like this song and ofcourse endless rain so i dont know why people dont like it. Babymetal is heavily influenced by x japan because their producer is a huge fan of x japan and most of babymetal's live performance have tributes to x japan. X JAPAN's member yoshiki if im not wrong thats his name actually love babymetal and knows that their producer is a huge fan of his band so yea su and moa actually got to perform the song endless rain with other artists like QUEEN members for a japanese show on new years eve recently so yea x japan knows babymetal and have met them and dont mind of this song, as a musician thats what you want to do right create not just good music but also to influence the next generation and so i think x japan is happy that they are able to influence bands like babymetal. So when i 1st heard this years ago i immediately thought of endless rain from x japan and finding out that this song is a tribute to that endless rain and x japan made me more emotional listenng both songs

I love this song! (Seems like I say this for every Babymetal song, lol) As others have said, Legend S is tops! I have more than once found myself getting teary eyed just thinking about that version. Especially the visual aspect of it. You can see the emotion on the face of Queen Su-metal which makes my heart hurt even worse. Anyway, great reaction and Kitsune Up! 🤘🦊🤘

Hi, I am not sure where you got your info from, this has always been one of their most loved songs. To begin with Su was a little reluctant to sing it because she felt her vocal skills didn’t do it justice when she was younger. It is also said to be a tribute to X Japan’s Endless Rain, and Su and Moa recently appeared with several other artists to perform that song on Japanese TV

Oh, it was not a criticism of you, just whoever said that people did not like the song. Having said that it can take time for new songs to grow on you for example Metal Galaxy had a few I wasn't sure of at first but after listening to them a bit more carefully I now really do like them

While this is good performance, this song has been rarely sung live (something like 5 times in total) as Su herself was not happy and did not feel she had the emotional experience at the time to sing this properly (she is nothing if not a perfectionist) and the song was shelved from their repertoire (this was Toyko Dome - Black Night - Sept 2016 when Su was 18). It was next sung at Legend S (both nights and the last time it was done live) for Su's 20th birthday and her performance is the next level. Her voice was stronger, more mature and had the depth the song needed. Quite simply the Legend S version is the perfect version. (and it is on KZbin officially!)

Oh and I considered this one of her greatest songs. Especially the Legend S performance. However it hits many fans hard and probably gets down ranked in part because Legend S was the first time YUIMETAL was not present (she never performed again) and also the last BM performance of guitarist ko-gami (Mikio Fujioka) who only weeks later passed away in a tragic accident.

The truth is, whenever fans rank their favorite Babymetal songs, No Rain No Rainbow consistently ranks low. Maybe that's why it was assumed fans don't like it?? These rankings are all relative to Babymetal songs, not to music in general of course. For me, my least favorvite Babymetal song is still a great song and would rank high if compared with all metal or rock songs. I imagine that's true for other fans.

I dont think I have ever seen a song ranking .. of Babymetal catalog if there actually was, this song would not be near the bottom .. it would be near the top .. . I think since BabyMetal have gained an even bigger following years after the blew up worldwide .. and the time between albums .. it's simply a matter of the new followers overlooking some of the older music. You will never meet a BM fan who doesn't hear this song and love it immediately. For the people who were fans back in 2014 and on .. this will always be at top of the list .. never near the bottom.

@@BillnYou1 Unofficial fan rankings show up on Reddit regularly. NRNR always finishes low. When people think of Babymetal they think high energy. This song comes along and just about everyone agrees its really good in every way but it's not high energy so its forgotten. For me however, if Su ever stopped singing ballads like this it would take a lot away from the overall experience. The woman can flat out sing!

@@jeffschreifels8651 I agree with what you're saying Jeff but what I said still holds true.. the people doing the ranking most likely represent newer fans not familiar with the older music. The fans that have been around long enough to know .. would never rate this song low. Always been at the top of my list .. I posted the English translation to this song back in 2015 I believe on the Budokan version many have used since. Either way it's all good brother .. it's the musical validity of this song and quite few others at the time that made them legit .. not just a gimmick. So this song and Akatsuki and the other Classics are what put them on the map as a legit HM band. Tc Jeff have a good weekend

No way is this filler... I am reminded of the Hiroshima bombing with this song... for whatever reason. Su is amazing. I don’t care if Su doesn’t think she’s singing this well... she’s wrong. ;-)
