This is indeed the Karen Girl's song that Su sang in when she was 9, and later used as Yui and Moa's entrance exam song for Sakura Gakuin.

Good one - and this was the moment Yui's dreams came true. Ever since she had to sit in a waiting room in thre hospital every day because she was too young to visit her seriously ill relative in intensive care, so the hospital staff put on videos of her favourite music - Karen Girl's singing this song. She watched the video over and again and learned all the dance moves and when her relative recovered she and her family got tickets to go and see the Karen Girl's farewell concert (quite possibly the same show where Koba first witnessed Su's vocals and recognised her potential). Yui, in the audience, danced along and at the end declared she wanted to be a Karen Girl's member. Performing this song with one of the original Karen Girl's ... Yui was so happy.

Two years before Yui joined Sakura-gakuin, one of her family members got sick and she was worried for a long time. In the handwritten blog of Sakura-gakuin, she wrote that this song became the emotional support for her. That's why this song is very special to Yui, she says.

This song can be considered a treasured song for Yui as it helped her get through some hard times in her life. In the past, Su was in Karen Girls while Yui was usually in the hospital due to loved ones who were in the hospital fighting for their life. Imagine a young little Yui constantly worried for her family who were in danger so the doctor or someone else from her family would always try to cheer her up by playing idol songs. One of the songs that came out was the song "Over the Future" by Karen Girls and Yui loved it so much. She said that it gave her strength to face what's happening. And as she kept listening to Karen Girls she wanted to be an idol as well, thenshe uttered to herself, "I want to be a Karens Girl." Fast forward a few years, and then this stage. Yui, standing onstage with her best friend and her idol performing "Over the Future" in front of thousands. She had written in her SG blog that that moment was "a dream come true." This was one of the most touching stories in Babymetal ever. A little girl who heard a song and she came to admire the artist who sang the song and ended up on the same stage with that idol performing with her.

This is a great song and a great cover, but the story of it and knowing its significance to Yui just elevates it to another level. In short, the album this song was on helped Yui through a tough time when a family member was ill. She described getting to perform this song with Su, one of the original singers of the song, as a dream come true.

This is actually the third time that LVT has done a reaction video to "Over the Future" and the second time for MAGZ. LVT and Dirty D did the Karen Girls version. This was also the song that Yui and Moa sang together to audition for Sakura Gakuin, and LVT and MAGZ did a reaction to that version. For your info, I know that you already did a reaction video to "An Unhelpful Guide to BabyMetal", but I wanted to let you know there is a more recent version called "Everything you need to know about Babymetal". I am not necessarily recommending that you react to it, since it's 43 minutes long and you already did the "Unhelpful Guide". However, this one is more current (it just came out in mid April). It contains info about their recent 10 years of Babymetal concerts. Also, it does not use the robot voice, and it has a bit more information than the unhelpful guide. For example, it has information about the person that does the choreography, which was not in the unhelpful guide.

Could you imagine how awesome it would have been if in the middle of the song the lights on the “bones dancers” faded out and then came back on to reveal the Kami Band? It is too famous that behind story of this song among fans. Anyways, Among the 714 your reaction videos, it is great that LVT remembered this song! I have written next thing some times before in the comment section of other reactors. Even only Yui ＆Moa would maybe become the super idol duo. At 8:42, The scene where Su- appears and the three of them are together, can be compared to Mito Komon (水戸黄門) in Japan. It is very famous Japanese historical TV drama series. Su- is Mito Komon, and Yui ＆ Moa are Sukesan Kakusan.(助さん、格さん). If you are interested in it, please search for those Japanese words on You tube.

This one is proof you can transform everything into a metal song and make it sound good. Even the bubbliest pop music originally sung by three elementary school girls. Only shame is that, except for Su, everything's playback. I'd love to hear all the covers they did in their early days today, with Kami Band and Moa singing live. The only time they ever performed a non-BM song completely live was Kimi to Anime ga Mitai at Budokan in 2014. Every other cover they did was without Kami Band and Moa & Yui performing playback, with only Su singing live if she was involved.

This is a late comment you'll probably never see, but it's pronounced kah-len (where the l is kind of a tapped r-l-d. If you know spanish, it's exactly the same sound for r, or so I've been told. It means "lovely", and the first kanji character is the same as in kawaii.

Yes this is a Karen Girls song, it was performed as one time only at Legend D Su's 15th birthday. Legend D is a great show, so many one time only songs and songs they haven't performed is for years. I think you talk about "Karen Girl's in Okinawa", I don't think that there are English subtitles for it.
