Babymetal (Japanese: ベビーメタル, Hepburn: Bebīmetaru) is a Japanese kawaii metal band consisting of Suzuka Nakamoto as "Su-metal", Moa Kikuchi as "Moametal" and Momoko Okazaki as "Momometal". The band is produced by Kobametal from the Amuse talent agency. Their vocals are backed by heavy metal instrumentation, performed by a group of session musicians known as the "Kami Band" at performances.
The band was formed in 2010, with the original lineup of Su-metal (vocal and dance), Moametal (scream and dance), and Yui Mizuno as "Yuimetal" (scream and dance), with the concept of creating a fusion of the heavy metal and Japanese idol genres. Originally a sub-unit of the Japanese idol group Sakura Gakuin, Babymetal became an independent act in 2013, following Nakamoto's departure from Sakura Gakuin.

Great reaction (apart from cutting the "See you" off at the end - did anybody mention that yet?😇) This video was from January 2015 at the Saitama Super Arena. Su-metal was 17, Yuimetal and Moametal only 15 and that was over 20,000 people completely under their control. Even at that age Su just looks at the crowd, spreads her arms and the crowd opens up for a wall of death (actually several walls of death at that concert as the crowd were in sections. A journalist up in the balcony that night said he counted, I think it was, 21 mosh pits). This was also the end of a 90 minute concert - they had been keeping that same energy up without any drop in quality for the whole time. It is what they do - they appreciate people have often paid a lot of money and travelled a long way to see them, they never give anything less than 100% for every song at every concert, whether that is one of their big arena concerts in Japan or at the many various sized venues as they tour the world. About the song itself - 'Road of Resistance' is a very positive song, it isn't the usual "resist the machine or the system etc" that we might expect from the title. It is about forging your own road even where a road doesn't already exist, not necessarily going the easy way or following the path already made by somebody else, so if the way you want to go has never been trodden you may have to get past the resistance of the undergrowth, obstacles, hurdles and things blocking your way etc to find your own way. It could easily be used to describe BABYMETAL's own story - they could have followed the well trodden path of J-Pop and been very successful, but they chose to go with Metal ... but again they didn't just follow the same old format of every other metal band, they have done it their own way and it hasn't always been an easy route to follow.

Best Version depends i would say. For me the best performance is at LMG with both Kamis and all Avangers. But i agree, its a very good version too. :)

@Busterle PIA Arena was almost as good, but it was BabyMetal the age of them at that time that made it more impressive. As the LMG show. second nights closer, Ijime Dame Zettai was more epic than Road of Resistance as a closer on the first night . The epic sweeping shots over the audience during we are BabyMetal, where breathtaking and the multiple fight courography great . All where great 😁🤘🏼🦊

Other fast Babymetal songs: *Amore (Wembley 2016):* A “love ballad”. *Ijime, Dame, Zettai (Sonisphere 2014):* Raw festival performance, zero stage production. 55K confused UK metalheads. *Tales of The Destinies (Tokyo Dome 2016):* The most technical AF prog metal song by Babymetal. Good one, thanks! This is from the concert "New Year Fox Festival", held on January 10th, 2015 at Saitama Super Arena (SSA) with a sold out crowd of 20.000+ people. Yes, it was the final encore of the show. Just imagine 90+ minutes of concert entirely performed with this level of energy. It's just epic. For this video, they decided to keep the actual live audio, just cutting short the majority of the "We are?? BABYMETAL" extensive outro. About the song itself, Herman Li and Sam Totman from Dragonforce collaborated with BABYMETAL, doing the guitar arrangements and also playing on the studio recording. SU-METAL still remembers this performance and specially the part they walked across the bridge with the crowd singing along as one of her favorite moments on stage. She also made this song her personal anthem. And you can tell she was on fire, specially during the second half of the song, by her expressions. Not to mention the moment she verbalized it by shouting: "Kakatte koi yaa!" ("Bring it on!"). Please, play the video until the end. We just love their cute signature farewell. 😁 🤘🦊

Of all the "Lord of Resistance" songs, this one was the best. This was the encore song for their solo live show, which included some intense dancing. Their stamina and passion are incredible. In addition, the performance skills of all the instrumentalists in their backing band "Kami Band" at that time were all world-class members. And because it was an encore song, it ended with "See You." I wanted everyone to watch until the end.

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。The crowd involvement (circle pit, call & response, chant etc.) occurs wherever they go on this planet. This anthemic song was played in their almost every show (either in their headline or in huge festival) The audience reaction is always similar to it in this video. In your video, Su shouted some words at 09:14 meaning "Bring them on!". Fans analyzed that the provocative shout was thrown at people who had been ignoring, underrating, mocking, hating and even trying to discredit BABYMETAL. That shout may have been necessary in 2015 but not any longer. She has shouted it occasionally since then and when she does, it is with her friendly smile and matured mild voice that I love 😄

Fun reaction, thanks! I saw Gimme Chocolate when it first went viral over a decade ago, thought it was a blast but wasn't really for me - I didn't check out more by them. Years later this exact video popped up in my feed, I thought "why not see what else they did" and was completely blown away; checking out every new live performance I can find ever since. Love this band so much.

This video is taken from one of their live show Blu Rays. All of their big concerts in Japan have this kind of epic production and theatrical performance. When they go on tour, the show they do isn't anywhere near as grandiose as the ones they do in Japan. This particular performance was filmed at "Legend 2015 - The New Year Fox Festival" at Saitama Super Arena on January 10th 2015 in front of 20,000 fans. They have a couple of other speed/power metal songs that are similarly fast - "Amore" and "Arkadia". This was indeed the finale of the show. Road of Resistance is usually played as the final song of the main set, or as part of the encore. On this occasion, it was the final song of the encore. At the close of all Babymetal shows, they chant "We are!" and the crowd shout back "Babymetal".

What you're seeing in their official live music videos are from their flagship concerts in Japan. The touring shows are completely scaled down to usually just the band, the girls, and a big screen behind them. But that doesn't deter them from still putting on a really good performance that every Babymetal fan comes away completely satisfied. Some even experience what we call the Babymetal Blues for a few days afterwards. Then the withdrawal symptoms begin and lasts about a week. 8-)

Welcome back to the Foxhole🦊🤘🔥 Nice to see you're back with this suggestion to follow your BM journey, just like here it was the ender for almost every show at the World Tour 2023/2024 and everyone loved to have fun with this one such recently at the Europe Tour and prior to that at Sick New World Festival in Las Vegas, they did a fun interview about it and you can see they were excited with Slipknot returns (another band BM producer loves) they were very supportive during early era or Metal Resistance chapter and now they're gonna be part of the Knotfest Brazil in October as well special guests in México, also they played at San Francisco as part of the Babyklok Tour along with Dethklok and DragonForce were there playing too, another supportive band since BM beginning career and also involved in the album version of this song as well some live collabs together around those years. "Road Of Resistance" is a power/speed metal song, it's one of their most epic anthems and the album version got the guitar arrangements made by Sam Totman and Herman Li from DragonForce. It's all about facing your own path without looking back. This was part of the Trilogy Of 2015, live at New Year Fox Festival - Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, by this time their fame was already high due to viral success on YT of Gimme Chocolate! MV, people from all over the world attended this live concert in Japan, and 20K souls witnessed this epic moment. With only 15 and 17 years old this moment will be forever remember when they're performing this song to reminds them all the support they got from their fans no matter where they go, either a small or big stages. The Kami Band here are real and magnificent set of elite musicians, they were sent to help the girls with the metal sound, they rotate so probably you won't see some of them in all live concerts (especially the guitarists). They are: - Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording some albums. - Takayoshi Ohmura, god of guitar, he's Míkio' Fujioka's pupil (another beloved Kami Band guitarist who sadly passed away) and a prodigy child, you'll see his recognizable pink guitar. - BOH, god of bass, he's the bald one and not only got amazing talent but his fun way to enjoy reminds me Flea from RHCP. - Hideki Aoyama, god of drums, comes from a family of expert drummers, and his father was very famous in Japanese music scene. At the end of their shows they always said "We are BabyMetal!" with the crowd, to make them sure that they're part of this show and project too, is a line borrowed from X-Japan saying it at live concerts too. Next suggestion: - Karate live at Download Festival 2016 or official MV. See you next time 🦊🤘🔥

One of many extraordinary stage from their shows in Japan, Babymetal's production staff are masters of their craft and produce some of the best shows I have ever seen. There are two smaller bridges not seen here that run off the sides of the stage as well as the one you commented on. The large bridge that goes to the small stage in the middle is not there for parts of the show and flies in and out from the ceiling on chain motors.

But I think a lot of fans of Babymetal and this performance of RoR actually get very attentive as the conclusion approaches just to see. To this day Babymetal still end many of their shows with the now iconic "See you."

And at the start of the song Moa and Su often enough fight about Su's Microfone. Well this song was arranged for them by Dragonforce. PLEASE watch their legend 1997 BABYMETAL DEATH performance. I know you’ve already listened to the song, but it’s a different version. in explanation of your headbanger reaction video, in that concert they also performed babymetal death. The whole thing is supposed to be su-metal (the lead singer) being sacrificed to something called “the fox god” and reborn as a metal goddess. I believe it is their BEST performance and a great introduction to babymetal, and gives more of an understanding of the whole “fox god” thing. I think you will absolutely LOVE IT, this version is much more heavier than the babymetal death performance you listened to. I hope you see this and react to it!! I love your videos.
