Jiwkenist S Thanks! For metal distorted guitars, I really like the fortin nameless ampsim... I just use that, tweak the settings a bit, and then try to eq out any harsh frequencies/extra low-end, so that you can make the guitars loud without ruining the mix... easier said than done sometimes. Less distortion usually makes it easier to get clear sounding guitars

Adam Cogan i am tuned to Drop G and then pitched shifted down 6 steps... you could tune down to double drop c#, but you’d want a long scale guitar and the right gauge strings for the best results

What is that technique called with your picking hand from 0:52 to 1:05, your like picking up and down and muting, ive seen other guitarists do that in the djenty genre, usually with that kinda pattern I would just down pick but idk if I can down pick that fast

Honda Kevin it’s basically just a muted note closely followed by an unmuted note. Generally speaking downstrokes will always sound better for rhythmic stuff, but at speeds like this i have to do the muted note with a downstroke and then follow it with an unmuted upstroke... it’s really common sound in metalcore and pretty easy to play depending on the tempo
