This is a montage of their 5 to 6 years training journey. There were as many as 15 girls in this Baby Monster project. The preliminary final 5 girls Rora, Rami, Ruka, Asa and Ahyeon was actually selected as early as 2021 but they did not debut. Lisa from Blackpink had blown up the Thailand Market and YG wanted Thai members for debut. The search and audition found Pharita and Chiquita.

Basically the process starts with the girls auditioning individually and at different times to be a part of the training program. Then they will be evaluated monthly for 4-6 years until the company decides who will debut in a group or as soloists. In the case of BABYMONSTER, YG the company took their best 7 trainees for the "Final Evaluation Series" to supposedly debut 5 trainees But ended up debuting all after the girls got massive support from fans. BABYMONSTER got more 2M subs pre-debut.

Imagine you training for years and with monthly evaluations that could send you home if you fall short of their expected standard BUT theres no specified date when these companies will actually debut artists. Its like going to school with no graduation date. Crazy really.

Your comment stopped at the right spot with Pharita. She had to audition in Thailand against 1,226 girls to get selected to even get trained at YG in Korea. Rora was shoulder tapped. She was already a child actress and was in a kpop group U.SSO. Chiquita was shoulder tapped discovered already performing with Red Rose a kpop group in Thailand. Ahyeon was already training with JYP and applied to YG and waited a year before they got back to her. Rami was a child photo model for product advertising and also did get selection from a audition she decided to go to. She did not think she would get selected as she was awkward, could barely sing and could not dance. Ruka and Asa went to a audition in Japan and got selected. Ruka was in a kpop group Shibu3 and Asa was in a kpop group called Block B.
