Korean fans of YG Entertainment have speculated that the main purpose of the Last Evaluation series was to introduce the members to the public, in order to build a fan base and hype for them, before they debuted. This is because... The Last Evaluation series was filmed in early-2022 and released in early-2023. In the Last Evaluation final results video released in 2023-05, it used the trainees' Korean age for 2022 and not their Korean age for 2023 or their international age. So, it is speculated that it was also filmed in 2022. In 2022-11, all seven trainees attended the Treasure concert in Seoul. At that concert, members of Treasure were seen and overheard congratulating all seven trainees for making it to debut. YG Entertainment used legal action to take down videos of that interaction uploaded to social media. YG has a history of publicly telling (lying to) trainees that the group that is being formed will have less number of members than the amount of trainees being fitted for the group. This is YG's method of motivating trainees to give it their all, so that their true potential/talent/abilities can be evaluated.

So originally there were more trainees than 7, if you remember in their introduction videos..some trainees faces were blurred out. It was said there were 10 trainees during this Last Evaluations filming which was around end of 2021 to 2022 and was released on KZbin in early 2023. 4 of the girls became YG trainees since 2018 and the others obviously came 2019-2020. So you’ll see YG artists with different color hair or hairstyles..even the girls will have different hair color or styles in interviews/intro videos like Rami has dark hair during the the last evaluations, but in her intro video she has blonde hair. So yeah it can get confusing about the timeframe and how many trainees there were before the producer chose the 7 who were debut ready. The producer will explain it more, but he really was not sure how many members he wanted in the group. So just like TREASURE BOX, he kind of flip flops on the number lol.

Since I knew nothing about them before debut I didn’t know there were 10 possible members!! It’s crazy how he doesn’t know the number of members he wants the group to have hahaha I can only imagine the stress watching the show without knowing the exact number…

Afaik YG never put survival show for girl group. So this Last Evaluation really are their last evaluations days with other trainees that did not debut being blur, and just put the one already decided to debut on video.

Yeah even the girls themselves were not sure how many members and if they’ll even make it to debut. That’s why it was making it to debut or be in BABYMONSTER was emphasized A LOT in their intro videos. There was no clear decision and again time frame of when the producer announced the official members is confusing. Either the girls really did not know until they also watched the producer announcement video or they knew and were really good actresses in acting surprised/emotional. Cuz like I said, the hair colors specially Rami and Chiquita’s hair color looked recently colored, toned, and treated compared to the last evaluations. There was also the girls family members who posted on their social media and hints that it’s OT7. So…there was some subtle hints, but we still had to wait for the official announcement.

A yg staff said before that they have 10-JENNIE trainees in yg,meaning they have ALL- ROUNDERS in training..if you watch their introduction other girls are still there. I think when they finally have 7 trainees left they decided to do this LAST EVALUATION to see how this girls will fit each other in a team and how will people react to them. While they are doing this show they made it known to them that the final members is not decided yet..so these 7 are really here competing..it so happen that the viewers were very loud and angry when they said only 5 will make it,thats why they are 7😊

7 Members were revealed but that 7 were not the final one bcz before Babymonster only 2ne1 & Blackpink were the girls group from YG, they are only 4 members group. Mr. YG had a number in his mind which is 5 members group eventually you will know. When Mr. YG had revealed that he would chose only 5 members, Bamon fans got furious about after that they considered emotion of the fans; people already couldn't think Babymonster without any of the 7.

no, they started with many girls which i didnt know how much. before this evaluation there was 10 of them, and YG staff told the fans that baemons would be 10 jennies. then they eliminated 3 of them.

I get your comment about the 7 but all 7 stays. If you get to the point of watching their reaction to the announcement it really seems like they didn’t know. Or they are amazing actors. Even the A&R people are in tears. So they are really fighting to stay in the group but you can also see how much they help each other. You can probably skip yg’s announcement but after you finish this watch the member reaction, it shows enough.
