Last Evaluation Ep.5 performance! I’m diving right into the beginning of their solo missions! I don’t know about you but I’m freaking excited to see their solo performances and find out what makes each girl stand out in her own unique way. They are referring this as thier last evaluation because the BLACKPINK Mission (Second to last evaluation) was done in April 2022 and then Episode 5 -8 is done May 2022 which is their "Last Evaluation" or FINAL Missions is their final chance to impress YG to include them into the group. In all agencies that I have seen they can cut someone from the final line-up depending on their last evaluation. With Asa and Ruka because they are both great at rapping and dancing so they didn't think that Asa could sing that well. From some of the clues in the videos, they are not used to hearing Asa sing and even Choice said that Asa had really improved her vocals when they were recording. Because Covid is a respiratory disease it affects both the throat and lungs. You could hear it in the preview that she had some vocal fry when she usually sings with a natural clean tone. But the fact that she performs without making excuses shows not only her determination but a mentality that not even some adults possess. There was a lot that she had to deal with not just in her solo for this FINAL Mission. Since you are already this far I would probably watch the "Behind the Scenes" videos since it shows a lot of their personalities. There is only four of them and you could probably put it into one video. My favorite would have to be EP3 from that series.

No spoilers hopefully, but you seemed unclear about the "last evaluation" thing that YG kept saying. Basically, the first four episodes were a "Blackpink mission" for a monthly evaluation, where they had a group vocal mission for groups A & B and a group dance mission for all seven. These episodes took place over the same month and the evaluations were all on the same day at the end of the month. These next four episodes are the actual "Last Evaluation", the final step to being chosen to debut. So these individual vocal performances and whatever other performance(s?) YG also has assigned all take place on the same day. They worked on these performances simultaneously all month and we are seeing the individual vocal performances in this episode and then whatever other performance(s?) are also being evaluated in the later episodes. So the first four episodes through the dance perfomance take place at the same time as each other and then all the rest of the episodes take place at the same time as each other. Then YG will evaluate and choose the members to debut

What's up KJ? Ou u duin? I think your take on Pharita is accurate. Because she is less outgoing than the other trainees and because of this I dubbed her the "sleeper". As YG said, her voice gives me peace but she can go strong at the right time and sounds amazing doing it! She always has great pronunciation because she is fluent in English and she always helps the others when they need it. Rora is crazy good with her emotions at age 14 and WOW, can she belt it out! Arguably, one of the top 3 vocalists. To me, Asa is an "all-rounder". Perhaps even an ace. Her personality strikes me as being mature beyond her years (17) . There is no doubt how good her rapping skills are and like you, I was pleasantly surprised by her vocals. Her tone is in a higher register but she has range as well. I look forward to how they utilize her talent moving forward. Chiquita's choice is ambitious. This is a really tough song to cover. But, so were the other 3 songs. I guess we'll have to wait until Ep 6 for me to comment on Chiquita's performance.

Impossible to pick a favorite for this group but I'd probably go with Rora just on voice alone. The part of her voice I think you are referring to is called "vocal fry" she uses it a lot in her technique.
