Actually on these Korean tv-stages performers do lipsync. They usually prerecord live vocals without choreo and then filming multiple times from different angles. On this particular stage BM shows live vocals with live band which is a really rare thing for such kind of programs

For what i know in a performance pre recording its usually 500+ to 800 people. Inkigayo is a little bigger cuz its 1k to 1.5k but I don't know if they allow that much people anymore.
