Another absolute banger. Class in a world of beige music and beige musicians.

Well Peter is a modern british music icon, but what separates him from a lot of others famous icons is that he never made it in the US because he was banned from going there. So he was never really able to tour there and also his music is simply to british for the US audience. But the US controls the modern market and so Peter is mever metioned anywhere over there.

+Toni Paradise So if i born i a family with money i have to sing about expensive cars?? maybe your art is most important than your clothes or your economic status, maybe art is that too, you know, art
@1388Anthony18 жыл бұрын
neotex555 I dunno I'm biased i go to NYC once a year and i love the city but some of the people just annoy the fuck out of me. Like i though all new yorkers were busy i'm smoking a joint walking down like 47th and ppl are complaining, theres an open sewer right there WTF!! The strokes were ok but The Libs and the White Stripes are far better to me. I'm from Detroit so i saw jack as a local guy these bands all started in the late 90's. So i hate when ppl think the Libs ripped the strokes off just not true. I guess economic status should not matter but something about a young band starving creates a great first record which is usually their best work. Thats why music and art in general is great no best its all subjective.
@Garrett12406 жыл бұрын
The Strokes hit the scene two whole years before The Libertines did, so there's nothing true about the belief that The Strokes have a Pete Doherty vibe. I also think it's cool and adds to the enigma that is The Strokes that they grew up in super wealthy households yet could care less; rejecting the culture they were born into. I guess we're going to just disagree about whose music is better, but I'll just say that The Strokes are far superior, especially considering that they created the rock-revival/garage-rock scene that defined the early-mid 00s. They changed culture massively not just in music, but in fashion where they were equally impactful. They're why we wore skinny jeans and still do.
