BACA Robo SawJet Cutting in Real Time

This video shows BACA Systems Robo SawJet cutting a complete kitchen in less than 13 minutes. This video was shot in real time. Robo SawJet cut 39.2 square feet with 9 minutes of saw cuts and 3:50 in water jet cuts.

Do you have any where it cuts out a sink? How much does one of these terminators cost?

costel gergrgethrs 298k for that set up unless they changed the price. single table should be a bit cheaper

those are pretty average cut times for a saw jet. what is the advantage of a robot arm? don't you use hard steel high pressure lines? don't they have to bend every time the arm bends? what sort of back lash issues are there after years of load on the motors in a 2 shift shop that works 24 hours? exactly how many axes does this machine have? can it waterjet at an angle?

an advantage is that you can have work on one slab and have it ready while the other one is cutting, and then switch sides when it is done. With everything going smoothly, the robot can be working almost 100% of the time.

Jason Smith if you know a bit about robot wear should be minimal in terms of backlash and accuracy. they are getting .06mm of accuracy. Wich is more then you need for that purpose. the thing with backlash is has long as you have the weight of the arm you will be fine unless the pressure from your cutting is more then that weight. we all know that in that case you would've bend your blade or bog your saw motor before that. if any wear over time it can just be recalibrate with faro laser.

if what you say is true, then that's great! how long can it maintain that accuracy? one of the major drawbacks i have seen for most granite cnc's is the accordion boots that cover the rails. they wear out and allow the rails to rust and get worn faster. and then the wait of the machine on the gear rack eventually wears the rack and pinion. ball screw machines are better but still never a good boot. this company should highlight the long term efficiency if it can avoid those issues with way covers and backlash.

robot life should be close to 20 years for a shop that work around the clock. oil change every 5 years is what you need. robot are foundry grade with pressurized air in it so not a single particule would get in the movement of the arm. technically robot would outlast every gantry machine. with that said you have less rigidity then gantry and a bit less accuracy. but for cutting granite your way above tolerance. ( we always cut 1/8 of over material for our cnc router)

No it does not do water jet angle cuts. Also will do a very basic miter cut with saw.

Update the software... the software is lacking so many features. If you made this video for the timing of this machine you should have AT LEAST ordered the cuts so the arm doesn't make moves back and forth... comon baca
