How is it possible that Bach composed one of these a week, with all the other movements, with enough time left to write out the parts, rehearse and perform it, and do this continuously for a period of 3 years while also writing other works? It boggles the mind.

Remember that Bach could improvise music in real time. So, when you consider "time spent composing" you have to take into account that writing down the notes is much more time-consuming than coming up with the ideas (not to mention that he could be thinking about "what comes next" while he's writing down what he's thought of so far). He had help in copying the parts (from his wife and children). I'm not saying that he wasn't fantastically productive --- he was --- just that the "how is possible to compose one of these a week" part of this is tiny, time-wise, compared to all the non-creative parts.

Maurice Sarin I think my initial idea was that the symmetrical, primary overtone pushing sound of this organ fits the symmetrical shape of a star, was not thinking in celestial terms!
