Wow, the best version on cello that I've heard yet. Normally it just sounds like an inferior version on cello: all that growl and no clarity, but here, instead of trying to imitate the agility of the violin, Aron brings out that deep cello sonority and casts the Chaconne in a way that makes it seem like a real part of the cello repertoire.

Stunning performance! The cello really adds a special mood to the piece which is not found by violin. He skips a handful of notes @ 5:30, but that is just a curiosity.

@MrCelloBoi Thats what happens in this world, last year came Alban Gerhardt to the city and played the Shostakovich's cello concerto, the place was empty, a place for less than 400 people, the price for ticket was 15 US dlls, some weeks before came U2 and got a +50,000 people stadium full, the price was 100 US dlls. Sorry for my bad english.

Well. It took a half a minute to adjust to the lower sound, but it was worth it. Very nice gravity. A wonderful performance.

Never heard this played on the cello, it's nice! Much darker and richer, although the stretches look a bit more of a challenge! However I think I much prefer it on the viola, the Chaconne sounds richer than on the violin, and sings better than when it's played on the cello, so despite the fact that it was written for the violin, I feel the viola has the perfect voice for it.

I m pretty sure its the right way to put the finger on the fingerboard but it th cello whom tuned lower giving deep vib cause if tune correctly the cello can be to much agressiv vib , lowed of two tons its nice to play Bach but also folk music and jazz... Great interpretation

i have seen violinists play cello suites, the swan, and other cello stuff.. they all sound better on a cello :D

Das Cello ist einfach zu schwerfällig für das leichtfüßige Stück. Sieht man von diesem grundsätzlichen Problem ab, ist es eine wohlgelungene Transkription.

This transcription is too low and muddy. Listen to Tanya Anisimova do it in D minor. That is awesome.
