Well, trying to post more here to keep myself accountable and actually learn these pieces all the way through. One day I will play it perfectly... maybe...

Thank you very much Jake. Fantastic interpretation of this wonderful piece by Herrn J.S. Bach. Could you perhaps consider producing a video in which you compare your Gilchrist and this Nugget mandolin, including which type of pick guard you prefer (the larger or the smaller one). Also, what do you think about armrests?

Thank you, I should actually redo this video with better audio! And good suggestions, I do have a video that demos the sound of my Nugget, one of the Gilchrist's I have and a Hogan. I did recently acquire a 2011 Gilchrist that I haven't done any comparison videos with yet. But it would be cool to do a full comparison and breakdown of what I also hear in these mandolins. As for the pick guard question, neither size bothers me. It just depends aesthetically for me. I personally don't use an armrest, not because I don't think they are useful but because it's one more thing to fall off of my mandolin on stage ;)

@@JakeHoward Thank you for taking the time to respond in such detail and for considering my suggestion(s). I have also just downloaded the 'Gestimer' kzbin.info/www/bejne/iny0l3-YnsmBo8k&ab_channel=JakeHoward (3.04), which you suggested in another video. Having just switched from Windows to Mac, that hint was also appreciated, as would be any further Mac app suggestions that might be useful for mandolin players or any members of your inspired audience. Thanks again 🙏🏻
