I worked on this piece years ago. Very good for right hand technique and a great melodic exercise.

This is really underrated. I love Bach and it's really interesting how it sounds on an electric guitar. I don't play guitar so I can't give any feedback, unfortunately.

You still can and you just did. As a "guitarist" I agree 👍
@eduturk92 жыл бұрын
you should listen to "In the name of Bach" album by Alex Masi, he plays 2 versions of this piece, with acoustic guitar and with distortion on an electric guitar... also "Majesty & Passion" album by Victor Smolski

Very nice. I’m working on the 1st Violin Sonata, the Adagio in gm. Very expressive, lending itself to a flamboyant electric guitar sound. It sounds best on my Fender Yngwie Malmsteem Strat with some overdrive and ambient reverb, neck pickup of course. I’m not afraid of electrifying the Master. W. Carlos’ Switched-on Bach was huge when I was a tyke so the sound of classical electronic music was imprinted on me early.

Currently I prefer this way to play classical etudes. Despite the neoclassical metal style is funny and all, it ends up being monotonous imo. In a hollowbody it justs sounds so marvelous... Keep up the good work! New sub :)

neoclassical is "funny" to those who can not shred sir.

@@Fuzzybunny-ki1cw not just for 'em. It is funny even for those who can. You should meet someone who actually can shred, their perspective about music may surprise you ;)

You prefer it with every note having the same volume and tone? Why?
Sadly, it just doesn't work on electric guitar. It's not possible to bring out the nuances.
@vladjones24462 жыл бұрын
Still, better than the anemic sound of ‘classical’ guitar.
@PeterOzanne2 жыл бұрын
@@vladjones2446 Well you're unusual in finding the classical guitar "anaemic". I find this piece sounds dead on electric guitar - in total contrast to great e-guitarists like Jimi Hendrix, Prince, Rory G, Jimmy Page, Mike Bloomfield, Peter Green, where the electric guitar is totally expressive for rock and blues; it just suits that genre better, and most guitarists agree. It's called "horses for courses"!
@vladjones24462 жыл бұрын
@@PeterOzanne No I think that most agree with me, manifested in the fact that 99% of guitar videos on YT are electric guitar videos: implicitly the public and guitar community generally find classical guitar limp and uninspiring. These classical etudes sound great on arch top guitar. A bit Unfair using the greatest rock guitarists of all time as a stick to beat this excellent humble you tuber’s performance with though. Pat Metheny has some improvised etudes in this style, you might want to check them out.
