Bachata (Dominican Style) Pt.1

This is a Bachata video classic! One of the first influential Bachata youtube videos. Troy and Jorjet went on to teach and influence countless dancers around the world. I like this video because we get to see Jorjet, dance with a couple different guys. She's great because she retains her unique personal style while adapting to each lead. When I give my Bachata history presentation I sometimes include this video. I'll ask the the guys in the audience how many of them have tried to imitate the guy in red...hands will go up. Then I'll ask them how many were able to do it and the hands go down and they all laugh. I've never seen any body dance quite like he does. Both he and Jorjet highlight the importance of finding your own unique dance voice, your own personal style.

To all of ya gtalking about different styles of bachata I got to tell you that this is dominican style the one the girl is dancing the guys didn't do the style well. But it is the original dominican style that she is dancing!

You know what is crazy, my first job was in the Pizza Hut next door, I'm Dominican and didn't knew about this dancers. Later on I found this video after seen others that make me look up to this couple as one of my favorite dancers. What a coincidence small world

Good the Dominicans revived the "Bachata'. But i see some turns here and the audience is applauding to them. Hey, some turns are very nice they are saying. Also the woman can show off more with them. Not just the man moving the hips more than the woman, like we see is happening in "The Dominican Style'. Anyway, thanks for the clarification that Dominicans dont like all those 'Crazy Turns'. But in USA and Puerto Rico we turn like crazy and they say it looks classy too. Saludos de NJ a todos.
