This is where the TV show doesn't work.....men actually make up their minds very quickly when it comes to who they like. Granted, it could be 1-4 people, but it's pretty much game over for 25-30 people on night one. The TV shows leads you to believe everyone has a chance, and that they can change their futures as the show proceeds, but it's pretty much game over on night one for almost everyone.

Actually, that's more the case with the Bachelorettes than the Bachelors. On the Bachelorette, there have been multiple occasions where the Bachelorette ends up with the person she gave the first impression rose to. Less so with the Bachelors.

Something else to know, is that the Bachelor/Bachelorette sees their pictures and can read their profiles before even meeting them. So, honestly…they probably already have 4-5 contestants in mind. Frankly, they can shorten the show by eliminating 70% of them the first night and spend more time with who is left, instead of dragging it out for weeks upon weeks.

No, only the audience sees those profiles. The lead and contestants aren't allowed to use phones and internet and those profiles aren't made until after the bachelor is taped.

@@lylaeloise3948 When Jesse was on the Bachelor, he received a notebook binder with all the girls pictures and information in it. I remember it like it was yesterday because I was so shocked when the men on his professional football team were commenting on all the girls.

No they can't. The Bachelor/Bachelorettes are not allowed to see or know anything about the contestants. Even Sean Lowe says he finally snuck a peek at the profiles of Catherine and Lindsay when they were the final 2 in Thailand. But he was sneaky about it, he wasn't supposed to do that.

@@janetg. Who's Jesse? Do you mean Jesse Palmer? His season was in 2004 - maybe they made some exception for him because he was already famous or something? I haven't actually seen Jesse Palmer's season by the way, but I'll take your word for it. But regardless, that hasn't happened during any other season. It's not usually allowed.
