Yep, the clue was learning that Jason was calling to "supposedly" check on Molly and he did not seem available to communicate with Melissa during the new and difficult time of separation. Melissa was right that she was just so young and much more inexperienced at that time as well. Still that national broadcast time was devastating and embarrassing for the little girl. Glad that she had some reservations about the relationship during their long distance separation and hearing the tip about Jason calling Molly so that she did not feel as worse or as blind sided when she got the break up news on the air. And look how beautiful her life is now.

There are no villains here. Just people who made choices and mistakes. I believe that Jason has a good heart and I’m glad he followed it. Still sad that the hurt was great fro Melissa, but look where they all are now.

He was such an asshole! I mean 11 years later and this still blows my mind. I mean who does that to someone. Even this year with Peter he pretty much did the same thing twice. I no longer like him or respect him. I'm happy Melissa moved on and found a great guy. She dodged a bullet for sure!

Wow, I am pleasantly surprised Melissa is still on good terms with producers after how they used her pain for drama. I know she hosted Bachelor pad with Chris, but I thought she had a falling out with the show? Happy to hear she is doing well now though. This whole time I thought Jason was a better guy than Arie since at least it seemed he waited until his After The Final Rose Special to actually try to pursue a relationship with Molly again, just out of respect for Melissa. But I guess he and Arie are one of the same. I get that the guys made mistakes and in the end, did what was best for them and it has worked out happily for pretty much everyone in the history of the show ever involved in a switcharoo situation eventually after the show (except Becca Kufrin that is, who just reportedly became single once again.) But I believe that if you are the lead, if you felt a connection strong enough to execute a proposal in the first place, and they meant something to you at any point during the course of the show, and you want your runner up instead, you should at the VERY LEAST, wait until your season is done airing and break up your engagement first, before going to pursue them, don't do it behind your fiance's back. Show some respect for the time you guys had together, before thinking of the future.

@Brittany Cherelle Wow, I didn't know she signed up to be the Bachelorette. If I were Molly, I would want closure, but do I believe Jason called her just PURELY to check in on her because he is THAT good of a guy? Sure, maybe. But a larger part of me thinks that he was just using as an excuse to see if there was still a spark between them, with Melissa unknowingly giving him permission to find out. I don't ever think there was a time during his engagement to Melissa that his feelings for Molly ever lessened, and all it took was that one phone call for all those feelings he tried to suppress to come rushing back. It's why most people would rather not be friends with an ex. It may just be one phone call, but they are from the Bachelor world remember, where you only have a limited time together and you gotta make the most of it so their interactions and conversations hold A LOT MORE WEIGHT to them than compared with the real world. I'm not saying him "checking in on Molly" is the ONLY thing that broke them up, I honestly don't think they would still be together right now even if Molly wasn't still in the picture, I'm just saying his phone call with Molly obviously didn't help things in his relationship with Melissa.

Exactly, they keep leaving that part out. She and Jason both admitted they had already broken up before the ATFR, but she claimed she didn't know he wanted to pursue Molly. You know darn well the show had them act like they just broke up for drama purposes. They'll do anything for ratings.

Considering Molly and Jason are one of the only bachelor couples to last, I don't think it was a mistake to break it off with Melissa. It sucked for all the parties involved at the time, but it seems like everyone is better off now. Funny how it seems to be the same situation with Arie/Becca/Lauren.
