Quarry Huslets were a big step up for the quarries of wales. Before them their were the De-winton locomotive which were vertical boiler locomotives with the pistons bolted to the boiler. They were un-srung and rough riding on quarry track. Hunslet were just an incredible work horse.

Mine just snapped back into place no probs. It seems quite rare, so I think it's more a case of the parcel being manhandled in transit rather than a fault with the model though

Ah yes, I think you're right! On the pics I'd looked at initially the corner offset was barely noticeable, but on another look I've found pics of this livery on a different loco where the offset was just as pronounced as on the model. So yeah, I'm happy to say it is prototypical. Thanks for the heads up!

Can you substitute the hook and loop style coupler so it works with the Thomas series 009 items available in the US? You Brits get all the good stuff! 😂

The couplings are in NEM pockets, so can easily be swapped for couplings of your choice. However, don't the Bachmann US Thomas narrow gauge series use this same hook and loop? My US Rheneas does

@@FortheLoveofSteam I’m not sure, the couplers on my Peter Sam look different from the Nesta’s. Also with the short wheel base does the Nesta stall on switches? Thanks for your help, newbie to Euro prototypes.
