Bachmann 4-6-0 Part 2

I have a Bachmann original run Royal Blue set that has given me many years of service with very few problems.Of the few problems I have had like lost detail parts or one split gear , the Bachmann service folks in Philly were absolutely the best people I have ever dealt with. If they can't fix something they will basically give you a new unit rather than have you be disappointed. There are only two issues I have with these sets. The track is not the best and gets dirty very easily so I replaced it with another brand. Secondly on my loco at least , the chug sounds twice every driver revolution and prototypically it should sound four times. I remedied this by installing two more brass contact strips on the axle cam that triggers the chug sound. Call it nitpicking if you will but it bugged the heck out of me. For the money and quality you get you simply can't beat Bachmann and the service is top notch !! Thanks Bachmann for posting this video and making a quality product .

The little tank engine is St. Elizabeth #4 “Little Lizzie”. It was restored to operation in 2002 at the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Museum, then a year later it was damaged in the museum’s roof collapse of 2003, then it was restored again back to operation in 2005 and ran until 2014.

Bachmanns guides are so over the top, oil on the valve gear and stuff is just over the top, yeah, you can do it but not like every month.. I've never oiled any of my locos and they're still running sweet..
