Obvious .A good hardwire is better. Takes less space and limits the need for more connections that lead to failures in the first place .21 PIN DECODERS can be pinned directly with the hard copper wire I have.

I guess this lets me know the decoder isn’t a simple rip off the 21pin and slap another in. Guess if I ever get one it’ll be a paint to install a Tsunami 2. I know Soundtraxx doesn’t have the sound files I’ll just use an EMD decoder and use the hood ole 567 or 645 prime movers. On my roster it’s either ALCO or EMD. If it’s a GE it had to look good.

Hi Larry, Great video again! Interesting conversion. The eight wires to change the Decoder Buddy was interesting. Good that the decoder itself never saw a soldering iron. The white wire on the Power Pack can also be tied to the "W" pad beside the U+ and GND pads on the motherboard and controlled by Aux 7 if that is easier too. I really like the idea of using the TVS also. The transient voltage suppressor also protects me from myself! Thanks again for sharing. Neat locomotive and interesting electronics!

IKR, why anyone would replace the best sounding DCC decoders for the 2nd best sounding is beyond me.
