Chandela dynasty ruled kehloor Riyasat from 697 AD to 10 October 1948 when it was merged with the Union of India. Although India got Independence on 15 August 1947. Initially Raja Anand Chand of kehloor refused to merge with India and opted to remain Independent. But later he signed the instrument of accession on 10 october 1948 and became the part of India . Got category C status of State and Raja Anand Chand Chandel was Chief Commisioner.
