Because agar geometry regular hai, as in tetrahedral and octahedral, every position is the same! Isliye in shapes me electronegativity factors ko nahi dekhte hai

Good afternoon sir, How do you compare between 2pπ-2pπ , 3pπ-3pπ, and the process of dimerization. Is it simply experimental for the greater stability gained during dimerization/back bonding. How would we come to know just by looking at a compound whether dimerization or back bonding is going to be a better choice. Awaiting for your quick reply.

Sir in bcl3 chlorine will be having vacant 3 d orbital whereas in f there is no vacant d orbital so the relative tendency of back bonding will be more in bf3 as that in bcl3 is this a correct explanation
