That’s what scares me most about depression was the ruminating. It’s I like being blind with sight

Great to see these interviews, please keep them coming, Douglas If I lived nearer, I'd probably do one myself (even though I am the most self-conscious person on camera ever!) Have a good weekend :-)

Maybe we can do one Skype. What would you talk about in the interview?

Hi there, Douglas - hmm, maybe?! I am not at all good on camera or making videos but if my story or experiences with Depression can make even one person out there feel like they can relate to me, then it would be more than worth it. As for what I would talk about? I guess just my experiences with it, when it first started, how I cope now with it that kinda thing? I would go with whatever guidelines etc you wish to lay out.

Hi Douglas, I just stumbled upon your videos today and it's comforting to know that I'm not alone. I was diagnosed with chronic major depression, anxiety, OCD and PTSD several years ago. I've taken several different meds with various results until I tried Prozac about a year ago, which had helped a lot until recently. My Dr says I have "Prozac poop-out", so they're changing my meds in the next few days. I'm completely stressed out and worried about the new meds working or not. As bad as the other issues are, especially when they come in stretches of months or even years in length, I think the thing that affects me most is the OCD. I have unwanted thoughts of things from my past, something I may have said or done in a social setting, loss of friends and loved ones, and much more. It becomes so overwhelming that it's become hard to function - including work, sleep, relationships, etc. I've suffered through a lot of loss since 2006, as well. My only daughter drowned in 2006, 5 weeks later one of my lifelong friends passed away, my nephew died of an overdose in 2009, my mother of dementia in 2015, as well as my long time counselor (who was such a huge part of my mental health treatment), my brother passed away in 2016, and I lost my middle son to an overdose on December 28, 2018. I am a man of faith, so suicide isn't an option. I just want to feel "normal" again, at least sometimes. I feel so alone, but I'm afraid of being in social situations due to fear of saying or doing something that would bring back the mental torment of unwanted thoughts. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Steve, I am. sorry for all of your losses. If you suffer from OCD, you should ask you doctor about the antidepressant Luvox, which has been approved for treating OCD. In addition, here are two of my videos on how to heal from OCD. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eKPIhJyVrNh3hbs kzbin.info/www/bejne/b5y3pIiAh9hrgtE
