What a vehicle! You can tell how much it means to Jase. Wiping the mud off it, he was cut after that roll. Jase and Simon you are living the dream. I'm relatively new to you blokes and the channel. I'm loving it and look forward to the new series later in the year. Take care.

@Dragonface4324 жыл бұрын
I agree with Jase completely about flogging a truck through bog hole after bog hole, It’s pointless and a waste of a well built 4wd. Having a destination that not many other 4wd’s will be capable of getting you there is why you build a beast of a 79. Keep up the great work boys don’t ever loose your passion for adventure.

Nothing wrong with buying a good base car and making it great.
@gqwarrior66944 жыл бұрын
@@madmick3794 There is if that base costs 80k. Start with a different base & think of the possibilities. For 80k you could build a wicked 80 series tourer & 80 series track monster & have enough left over to build a GQ to tow em both home with when they break 😉

I live up in Canada and man I wish we could get these things up here. All everyone up here cares about is can they access facebook through the stereo and what colour the interior lights are. The only thing we have that comes close is the Jeep Gladiator pickup and at $70k+ at the dealership you get something half as capable as a 79 with a measly V6 gaspot. Absolutely beautiful machine you built there!

The reason why the rear track is 100mm shorter, is because they had to increase the size of the front to allow for the size of the V8 motor, but Toyota never corrected the rear to match the new size in the front. -55 offsets in the rear and 0 offsets in the front are a cheap and easy way to correct the track although it outs some extra stress on your bearings and seals in the rear. I done this in my 79 series dual cab and I just get the bearings and every replaced at every major service and its been great. Iv always loved landcruisers like you Jase, grew up on farms and currently live on land myself. So many people give the 70 series a heap of stick because they are expensive, and i was guilty of it to a certain degree. But once you actually own one and drive it, aswell as put some modifications on it, you realise how good, and fun they are to drive. Id never own anything else.

I did something similar to my 3 day old 86 Toyota 4x4 in a sandy creek and by the time I got home The sand in the brakes ate the drums and pads up. I had to do a complete brake job and change all the gear oil in transmission and front and rear gear boxes. Never again would I do that to a new truck, even when my buddies say “no guts no glory”. Live and learn!

@27:07 the wheels are turned to the left, you may have saved it if the wheels have been turned to the right instead at that moment. By pointing the wheels away from the pull-force direction, you shift the gravity-force higher up in the vehicle. Mishaps often make you wiser, rarely richer. ;-)

@Raven-cf5qd4 жыл бұрын
Well Jase is 47 so 2020 minus 47 is 1973, he loved the 75 at age 14 so 1973 plus 14 equals 1987 so when he was that age it would've been pretty modern only 3 years old, so yeah it would've been modern back then
@Raven-cf5qd4 жыл бұрын
I used to want one of these but now I realized that you're better off just to buy something like an old Navara, Hilux, Patrol, 75 series, 80s series. And then spend about $10k-$20k on it and it will be just as capable

what time name is, I don't know, but I mean the achorpoint wheels so you can exceed the pulling power and divert the angles you pull from. anchoreheels maybe? Innyway. if you are alone and you are in a pickle, you could use many anchorpoints to reposition for a complicated pull. your second car could do or combo. not fair everyone though
