Rachel Stewart ist für einen Kurzbesuch in die alte Heimat zurückgekehrt. An einer Londoner Ampel muss sie feststellen, dass sie schon deutscher ist, als sie gedacht hätte - und fragt sich: Fish and Chips oder Currywurst?
Die Britin Rachel Stewart taucht alle zwei Wochen für "Meet the Germans" in die Besonderheiten des deutschen Alltags und der deutschen Sprache ein.
Seit 2016 lebt sie ständig in Deutschland und hat einen frischen Blick auf das Land und seine Bewohner.

Also für Fisch'n Chips kann ich mich auch begeistern, allerdings Erbsenpüree und Essig würde ich eher weglassen und den Essig durch Zitronensaft ersetzen um dem Fisch etwas Säure zu geben.

Unbedingt ein Fischbrötchen probieren - dazu braucht man nicht einmal Besteck. Oder ein Leberwurstbrot. Zum Leberwurstbrot gehört eine grosse, heisse Tass´ Kaff´ :)

@@Kukasauto Well, I am living in Germany, and I can honestly say that most Germans (not all of them as some tend to take life quite seriously) really have a great sense of humor! Maybe your German friends are an exception - maybe they mostly come from the north? Northern Germans tend to be less outgoing and communicative than those from other German areas. It's simply a cliche thinking that Germans don't have a sense of humor. (Even a lot of Brits say this meanwhile). A cliche that my stem from stupid, biased Hollywood movies. And the very special British sense of humor is just known everywhere.

Es geht im Video um was ganz anderes. Klar essen Deutsche auch mal Fisch, aber es geht um diese ganz typischen Dinge, wie also fish 'n' chips oder Currywurst. Und deine Aussage mit Berlin verstehe ich ganz ehrlich nicht. Ja, sie hätte statt Currywurst auch Bratwürstchen mit Sauerkraut und Kartoffeln nehmen können. Hat sie aber nicht.
