Wow. Where did 30 years go? This takes me back there instantly - getting genuine goosebumps when a tune hits. Forgot I was 52 for a while. 89-94 were crazy beautiful years. I was born in 78. I recall kids on the school bus in Warwickshire in the late 80's talking about DJ Rattie - a local hip-hop dj turned acid house DJ. I had no idea who he was. At that time, all the local markets sold smiley T-Shirts and baggy blue 'Joe Bloggs' jeans. I didn't get it. Later, in 1996, I met a South African girl 10 yrs older than me at Reading Festival. I lived with her in a shared house in Archway later that year and went a lot of basement raves. Doves and swans were still in circulation. I recall, one hour after my first fragment of e, I was blissed out dancing - one of her friends just came up to me and said: "Now your ravin".... I FULLY got it! Oh boy. The tunes were more techno then but this was still in the ethers.... I had to reappraise...
