Hello Robert, love your videos. Would like to see your field processing of deer/hogs. I'm sure a lot of viewers would like some info on that. Keep up the good work. Thanks 👍

That's the reason I like him and his videos. He's a stand up guy and straight forward and will admit when he's made a mistake.

I had Nate build me a quiver just like your's, except he did the strap a little different to fit my body and arm flexibility. I have used it quite a bit, for practice, 3D shooting, and I used it for hunting last fall, but I don't carry a backpack, and I don't hunt that far from the house, so I can go back for the deer. When I hunt out of a tree stand, I take the quiver off and hang it up, where I can get an arrow out, easily. But I also sometimes use an old bow quiver, with a strap, like you do, sometimes.

For hunting I use a bow quick quiver. Not on my bow. I mounted it the bottom of a wooden thin board the length of my arrows a strap onto that. It stays tight with adjustment I'm able to reach a arrow by just reaching behind. Simple design works out nicely for me.

I was never ever able to find someone in the states that made a proper backquiver (just didn't kniw where to go for it). I purchased a hill style from a UK company called Team Sagitarius. Probably some of the best leatherworking quality I have ever seen in archery gear. I highly recommend a quiver from those folks.

I'm using a piece of bamboo that goes into my water bottle holder on my backpack. Piece of foam at bottom and a piece of fur around the rim but I'm saddle hunting.

Agreed. I bought a back quiver along with my first bow. A cheap one and it generally doesn't leave the house. It basically just stores my extra arrows. I can't easily reach arrows with it on my shoulder. It has a clip for my belt and that's better for target shooting, but walking around is a no. I saw a video about traditional Chinese belt quivers. Basically a narrow rectangular box. They put fabric in the bottom and place the points between the folds. It separates the arrow and prevents them from banging into each other and hence making noise. I tried it in my quiver with a sock and field points. It did reduce rattling but not eliminate it entirely. I could see it being a pain for broad heads or any other head that would snag on fabric. At the moment I just carry arrows and I practice holding the spares in my bow hand while shooting. I want to get a bow quiver, but I haven't found one I like yet.

Great Northern Quivers and Creekwalker bow quivers are very high quality and great choices. Lot of trad guys love those if they aren't running Seleway archery ones

I LOVE my Nate Steen back quiver. Nate knows his stuff and will tailer the quiver to you and your arrows using top quality leather. I haven't gone hunting with it yet (Oct 1st can't come soon enough), but I've used it exclusively all year whether I'm stumping, blank bale, or at the range. I keep all my other gear (hatchet, knives, lights, license, water, snack) in a belt bag on my waist. Like you, I do a lot of walking/stalking, but not a lot of ambushing.

That's a good looking back quiver Robert. I received mine yesterday from Nate. It's a little bit different style and different type of leather than yours, but it's basically the same. I've used it in the backyard past couple of days and it's really nice. It's no problem keeping blunts separated from broadheads, because it has a leather lacing divider. Once the leather is broken in and conformed to your back, the arrows won't be rattling around. The broadheads can't get dull quicker in their, but if you use a serrated broadhead like some do, it's not a problem.

Enjoyed the video Robert, back quivers are cool. I have several and have given them to new shooters as well as making them for myself. I just struggle reaching up and behind these days. So as soon as I am able, it is hung up to one side of me or propped up. And yes, they are not all made for you, what works for one may not work at all for another. Strap location is important and makes a huge difference. Daisy loves you for sure but she is still a dog and does dog things like our Daisy Mae does, things that can drive you nuts as to the why's but they just can't reason like we can. They do like the foul smelling stuff for sure and chew on some nasty things as well. But then they do something that makes you smile, hey wait, my wife says the same thing about me! Can't wait to see you with boots on the ground pig hunting and deer scouting feed trees. Don't ever slow down Brother. It's always a heart thing with our Lord, you are either His or you are not, no straddling the fence with Him.

I just bought an enclosed tube style back quiver like the one you have shown before. I always drop arrows with an open quiver. This one has room for 6 or more arrows, so I have 2 judo tips and 4 single bevel 2 blades for deer. I was using a leg quiver but it kept getting in the way. Happy hunting Robert!

Have to disagree on this one. Don't think you were wrong in your original assessment. Hard to see what arrow you're drawing (broadhead or blunt), arrows catch when ducking under brush, noisy, sharp heads soon dull. I used a back quiver one season and that was enough.
