Back to Baa Atoll, Maldives - Hanifaru Bay, June 2024

I went back to Maldives Baa Atoll, first week of June 2024. After a quick transfer via Male and Daravandhoo airports, I split 1 week vacation between 3 nights in Kihaadhoo which you can view in the first video and 3 nights in Dhonfanu which you can check in another video... Dhonfanu is only 3 mins by speedboat from the world famous marine protected area recognized by Unesco : Hanifaru Bay, where you can swim with Mantas between June to October, and if you are really lucky, even see whale sharks. Depth is about 5 to 15 meters and the currents are strong. You need a local guide. Diving there is prohibited and snorkeling time is limited to 45 mins per trip. Cost is approx USD 75 per trip all included. I was blessed with a perfect weather during my stay in Dhonfanu and went to Hanifaru Bay on 2 separate occasions to witness about 20 to 30 Reef Mantas feed on tiny planktons.
