The past few weeks I've been working on race cars again at PCD, Precision Chassis Development. My season hasn't gone the way I planned as far as the racing goes. But I was surprised how much I missed just being in the shop everyday working other cars. For those who don't know me, I have been running a Video Production company for the last 10 years. It has been fun and keep doing work for clients we have had for years, but my previous career of racing keeps calling me. So, here I am. Back in the shop getting my hands dirty. Take a look at the first body I put together for someone else's car in over a decade. It has been a while, but I'm pretty happy with it.

Oh awesome, thank you so much! I'm trying to enjoy it while I can. I'm definitely closer to the end of my racing days than the beginning for sure.

Hanging bodies is one of the many things I take joy in doing with regards to working on racecars. Well other than cleaning. Which after 35 years, I believe that I have paid my dues with regards to cleaning. Which is one of the major reason I avoided going to Nascar land. Is due to the fact everyone who talked about it, stated that is the first thing you get stuck doing is sweeping floors and cleaning. Nope not for me, because I could go do all the cleaning I wanted. By starting my own business and go clean offices or stores. Yet since I am a mechanic by trade, working on just about every type of vehicle made. From computerized alignments, to body work, to brake system repairs. Then there is building race cars beginning with factory stocks, street stock, mods, and late models. Which included building engines, to bodies, to just about everything someone can do in a racecar fab shop. Just no cleaning.

Well I started in 99 building my first cup cars and I can tell you we didn't have time to clean. It was non stop car building. I would've loved a day to rest and clean every once in awhile hahaha. Sweeping floors was awesome because it meant it was time to go home after a 12 - 14 hour day a lot of times. But I got to build a lot of cars. It was actually pretty cool to be part of Nascar at that time and at it's pinnacle I think. But trust me it was not easy to get a job on a team back then. I honestly felt I had to move stars to make it happen. But I always still missed racing my own cars. Then I got so burnt out on racing I just quit in 06. For me it's always been a struggle to balance what I love with what I need to be doing. And hanging body's and chassis fabrication is fun. But I still love to drive!
