Not talking about Saban here, or anyone specifically. Just the top, elite level coaches in general. I mean its one thing to win at GA, Souther Cal, Michigan, bama, Ohio State, etc...but if one of these elite coaches, before they retired went to a school like NC State, Pitt, WVU, Arizona, etc, and won a National Title, to me, that would be incredible. I mean, cmon, teams like Bama, have won, and will continue to win titles, but its amazing to do it where it never has been before. that would be truly EPIC level coach.

I think one reason Nick Saban also could take the West Virginia job is because Alabama expectations is different then West Virginia expectations. Mountaineers only look at competing for a big 12 championship and maybe making the playoffs every now and then we don't expect a national championship but would be nice. Now if Nick Saban was still at Alabama they would expect him to go undefeated and win a national championship every year so there is a lot less pressure on him. Plus you have to remember a lot of people want to be the hometown hero and he would definitely be West Virginia's hero to come back and fix the program. But one good thing having him involved is he will help us land the next great coach hopefully if he doesn't want the job. But if Jimbo Fisher wants the job they have to give it to him no matter what Nick Saban says.
@Epitome63Ай бұрын
I think he retired because of the NIL and money, etc. He didn’t retire because of anything at Alabama, IMO.
@davidframe1613Ай бұрын
@@Epitome63 he doesn't need a lot of nil money at West Virginia to compete in the Big 12 it's not the same as the SEC. No one would be expecting a national championship or undefeated seasons just to compete in the Big 12 for a big 12 championship and to be ranked in the top 25 most years. So most all the pressure would be off him. His name along would probably bring in better recruits than WVU could pay in NIL Remember most of these young guys that are going to go pro they are not thinking about nil they're thinking about being under a great coach to mold them into an NFL player.
@Epitome63Ай бұрын
@@davidframe1613 I cannot imagine having to coach in WV, with the recruiting challenges. Saban said, and I'm paraphrasing, that players first conversation included "Show me the money." That was a reason he left. Plus, he is set. I am sure he has invested, and his portfolio is doing well. WV needs recruits. With good players, NB's "straight up the middle" on 3rd and 7 would work. The QB wouldn't be compelled to run every few plays. The secondary wouldn't get burned all the time. Saban is not coming. He may have been asked his opinion on this or that, but moving to Morgantown? No. No way. While WV has a place in my heart, I have been to a lot of other places I would prefer to live, especially if well monied.
