Hi! Very nice video! I'm starting third year of law school, I think you are too since we have some subjects in common, so i wish you the best of luck for this year!!! Your tips are very useful, nevertheless i wouldn't recommend buying the books before the first lecture (specially in the european zone where professors have a wide range of educational freedom) since in the first lecture they'll tell you wether or not they are going to use the manual recommended, another one, give their own materials, tell you to just take notes from lectures etc and you might end up with having wasted your money in expensive manuals. Also, a good alternative to buying second hand books from previous years when you don't have much money, is gathering around some friends, buying the epub version of the book and printing one copy per person or having it in your laptop/tablet. Second hand books are a good idea, but law is something that constantly changes so the previous edition of the books might be useless for your current year!

I've never encountered professors that didn't agree with the books that were prescribed, so that's why my personal experience is to always buy your books before the lectures! And yeah, you definitely have to be careful about buying second hand books (your option is a great one too, but definitely print it out, because you can remember it better when you're reading of paper), but most of the time our books change once every 3 years or something. Good luck this year! xo

I'm a second year law student in the UK and I use most of the technique's you do whilst studying. I use colourful mini papers for revision notes when it comes to studying for end of year exams which are so good. It is also very important to not fall back on your reading list your lecturers give you every week otherwise you will be struggling towards the end!! x

thank you so much for these awesome tips!!! i may have a comment on the part around 16:00 : be careful with those colorful markers. where is study it is PROHIBITED to use different kinds of colors and you can fail an exam, because it counts as cheating! to the law students reading this: make sure that you are allowed to use them!

Luiza Soares hi! In Brazil things are very different from what is usual in USA and Europe. I finished Law school 3 years ago, suma cum laude (yeyyyy), then, to be able to practice law, I had to take a exam, very very difficult, but I did pass on it before I had actually finished college. Then I did 2 more "classes", labor law and retirement law. We call it specialization (especialização, in Portuguese), which I just finished, and I'm waiting for my thesis to be approved by a committee. By the way, r u Brazilian? So I believe you can understand better...

+Lamha Bieber yeah, it's a misconception that most people that study law don't become a lawyer/prosecutor/judge. i think most people end up working for the government or (international) companies. i want to become a criminal defense lawyer and probably do some research too! xo
