for the giant post it notes from target, we use them for brainstorming ideas or group discussion on a topic. For example we took a vote of which type of fruit is better and we used sticky notes with their reasoning and we would count them to see what the majority of the class liked more

I’m totally addicted to your videos! Since I could pretty much speak, I’ve wanted to be a teacher. Now going into junior year of high school, it’s still what I truly want to do. However, I’m a little less naive than I was when I was three. Going into education in the U.S. sounds like such a crazy thing to do right now. I would love to know how you deal with the constant backlash you get from pretty much everyone in the country, not to mention the lack of recognition and under compensation. And that’s not even with the added stress of it being a new concern of potentially having to protect 25 fragile lives and still wanting to get home to your own family at the end of the day. There are not many days that I am in school and don’t have the unthinkable situations running through my head at some point. I don’t know that I can be in a school for the rest of my life. How do you keep reminding yourself that it is all worth it? How do you make yourself keep going when all the odds are stacked against you?
@hellomissromeo5 жыл бұрын
Hi Chloe! I totally understand where you're coming from. These kinds of thoughts cross my mind on occasion, and I would be lying if I said everything you just said isn't true. However...what makes it worth it? Those 25 smiling faces who can't wait to see you every morning and make you laugh every single day and going to work KNOWING you make a difference in the lives of others. Is it difficult? Yes. Absolutely. But...It is so, SO very worth it.

I use the huge post it notes for circle maps. Draw a giant donut on the paper. Then in the donut hole, write a topic you are studying. Students work in groups of three. They write as many vocabulary words related to your topic in the donut part. I am a foreign language teacher, so I use this for vocabulary review, but it can be used with all subjects of you have vocabulary your students need to know about a topic: for ex, Ancient Egypt, Revolutionary war, dinosaurs...

My sons 4th grade teacher had a special seat for students. She would let them earn points or “money” can’t remember which. And at the end of a time period kids can “buy” things. And one was the special seat. My son always bought that. Lol She has a name tag like that, and a ton of pens and pencils they could choose from. Kids loved it

@Clarissa_Pineiro5 жыл бұрын
Courtney Leigh I’m going to college this year as well and I’m going to be a teacher. If you don’t know what to major in, that’s okay there are also things called meta majors which is a major that has a broad area, so you could major in education and end up becoming a teacher or principal or anything like that. There are other meta majors if you want to look into that, if you don’t know whether to be a teacher, I know I want to be one because I love helping and I love kids, so I can do both with teaching, it’s something I’m really passionate about and I’ve been wanting to be a teacher since kindergarten. If you find something you are passionate and love, you should definitely go into that for your major, if you could talk about it for hours or watch or research about it for hours without getting bored, it something that you’ll definitely love forever!!!
