This year we are enrolled in a virtual classroom through out school district. Our district still has in person school so it's not a teacher from her usual school, they hired 44 new teachers and added a new school altogether which is a virtual academy. I have considered doing 100% homeschool on our own but I really love the fact that the curriculum and lesson plans are already made for us to just follow along with it. In the Spring when we did the emergency online school, we didn't really have an organized spot and just did it in the living room or kitchen table. It worked okay for short term but I realized if we are going to be successful for a full academic year then we need a designated spot in our home. So... we took our play/toy room and made it into a toy room/office-craft space/school room. It sounds like chaos but everything has it's place and I think it'll work out quite well!

I'm currently in college studying to be a teacher (middle school music) and I LOVE school supplies and classroom organization stuff. Though I know homeschooling kids, especially when you weren't planning to, must be difficult, the teacher part of me also thinks it would be a lot of fun. My kids are doing a 100% virtual till they reopen schools. I absolutely love school supplies. So I have had a ton of fun setting up their homeschooling work areas. We decided to use those three section caddies from the target bullseye section for our writing utensils scissors rulers etc.

I also have 4 kids between 4 and 10 years old. Our local schools are all distance learning, but we decided to independently home school for the first time. I was home schooled growing up and am excited to do some of the same things that I enjoyed as a student with my kids :)

I was a nanny for multiple families last year who homeschool and some of the families watched a series on Netflix called “The Who was show”. It’s is a very good and educational show. It lasts only about 30 minutes so not very long but long enough for the kids to get learn. I even enjoyed watching it!

Our school gives us a list of supplies and there is also a link to a company that will create the entire list as a bundle for you (specific to your school). Saves me the headache of going to 500 different stores for everything (notebooks are specific that you can't just buy at staples or Walmart). Another good thing is a % of the sale goes back to the school to help pay for trips/renovations/carnival days etc.

A little tip: when your markers run dry, go buy coloured pencils in neon colours. They never run dry and the three that I have, I actually own for nearly 20 years now and they are still good. Those are not just much cheaper long term, they are also much, much, much, much better for the environment.

I’m doing a hybrid starting next Monday. I go to campus Monday and Thursday and I e-learn Tuesday, Wendsday, and Friday. The other half of the students at my school go Tuesday and Friday.

I love the little bubble pop letter board thing!! Thats so cool for teaching kids to write and having them trace correctly instead of making their letters huge and then tiny and then GIGANTIC again. We've actually chosen the virtual option for our boys. The nice thing is that they're assigned to a class that is actually at school. A few times a day they get online and join the class at school and can interact with them and get the main lessons live.

We are doing virtual and I’m going to be adding some other stuff to his schooling. I got some books from Walmart that has the Presidents, History, and a big learning activity book with different subjects. Also different books like the Usborne Kids Encyclopedia, and an animal rhyme book to name a few.

Great haul I love all the rainbow colors! I hope you do a video off your teacher toolbox! My 5th grade daughter will be doing remote learning through her school this year! Her school recently decided to go all school remote learning for at least the first 6 weeks but we’ll be doing the whole year to be safer! Small classrooms with too many kids! I think they should have The Whole school do remote learning for The Whole year too! I had already bought her supplies so I’m letting her just use them to keep organized and for fun! I’m also going to have extra learning available if remote learning isn’t challenging enough!

My school is doing a hybrid, so for the first two weeks we will be separated by last names and we will go to school once a week and do online for the other days of that week and for the second two weeks we will do the same thing but we go to school twice a week then they will see how that goes and make a decision if we should go online only, have a choice, or do totally in school
