You are so lucky to be able to go on a cruise ,my son is 40 that’s not able to happen in his life time you are so blessed to have people accept you , and your family ,my son has been not accepted in two California counties just for his education had to go through the fair hearing process and was told to leave two churches , my son goes into Costco and gets yelled at by people ,for staring the wrong way . My son would be singing and dancing on that cruise . My son loves our R.V camping trips so we still get out , very happy for you all .

The whole cruise seemed like a dream! I think my most favorite part was when you were all riding the ATV's - the smile on Abbie's face during the ride. It was beautiful to see! :)

Summer would fit in just nicely on that cruise. I think she should give it ago, if they are taking on new staff. It’s always sad at the end of vacation. Especially when you have had a great time. I like the fact that the helpers will just take Ab and go and do stuff, that gives you guy’s a welcomed break. Love it ! 👍💜👍

I just realized that we've never unpacked on cruises. Lol We lived outta our luggage for the whole week. I think subconsciously, we thought it would be less hard and sad to leave if we didnt have to pack. Idk if it worked because it was still depressing. It’s just boxy, not very heavy. That’s where she keeps her iPad when needed, a change of clothes, wet wipes, water, and whatever sensory thing she’s into at the time.

This has been awesome to share your special vacation with us. I understand that you don't want to leave the cruise. I am 63 yrs young. Happily married living in FL. I have decided if I am left alone to live out my end yrs i want to spend my last 5-8-10 yrs just cruising thr Seas. Think about it, food all the time, fun things to do all day & night. The staff treat you like royalty. There is a doctor on board if someone happens or i get sick. No Nursing Home For Me😂❤🎉

Being able to go on a vacation in America is a privilege. Many Americans don't get PTO or vacation time off. I've known many families with kids, who have disabilities, and they never went on vacation, as they couldn't afford to take time off work. Hats off to the kids who spent their "vacations" climbing trees, playing in dirt, riding bikes, and running through sprinklers.

This was just a five family cruise. The one before ours had 30 families. It’s always a smaller group when you go during school.

I have a question and hopefully you can answer it... I have a 4 year old that still doesn't talk very much he also does what your daughter does with her hands and when he is super excited he does the samething he also goes around and around and around in a circle when he is upset or just cause anyways my question is when did you get your daughter tested for autism cause my son's doctor says he is still to young and I need answers to why he is the only one of my kids that do this he also only eats Fry's cookies and nuggets what do I do or whom do I need to get ahold of for help

We had our son tested at the age of 6 when he started kindergarten. He was diagnosed with high functioning autism and isn’t really comparable to Abbey’s situation.

You need to get a second opinion. It doesn’t make sense to wait when he could be getting therapies and services now rather than later if he needs them.

I’m not sure at what point you commented but she had a really good time getting out and going. It’s a common issue though. She often wants to get out and go but it’s the initiation of an activity that she struggles with. It’s pretty common in the autism world to struggle with transitions. We encourage her to make those transitions and push through it so she can enjoy the things she loves doing in life. If we didn’t she would do nothing but sit on the couch and I’m sure you would find that “disgusting” as well. Please don’t be so quick to judge things in life that you don’t understand.
