Back to the Future is a 1985 American science fiction film directed by Robert Zemeckis and written by Zemeckis, and Bob Gale. It stars Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson, Crispin Glover, and Thomas F. Wilson. Set in 1985, it follows Marty McFly (Fox), a teenager accidentally sent back to 1955 in a time-traveling DeLorean automobile built by his eccentric scientist friend Emmett "Doc" Brown (Lloyd), where he inadvertently prevents his future parents from falling in love - threatening his own existence - and is forced to reconcile them and somehow get back to the future

I just looked on google maps to see where this mall is, and I realized I used to live only 25 minutes from there. I lived in Fullerton for many years, and I can’t believe how close I was to seeing where one of the most significant movies of my childhood was filmed.

It's been longer between now and when the movie came out then when Marty went from the mall to the field. 1985 -> 1955 = 30 Years 2023 -> 1985 = 38 Years I would go back to 1985 without hesitation. Still have my Sims Lester from 1984 and would take it with me.

This is one of the very best (if not the very best) coverage/shot matching videos I have seen of the Puente Hills Mall location for BTTF that I have ever seen (and I've see a lot). I saw this movie with my grandpa when it came out (sadly he died couple years later😂❤😂❤) so this will ALWAYS be one of my Top 3 movie favorites in my world because being with grandpa at the theater ❤❤

Wild. I’m 44, grew up in the Midwest but have lived in central Florida for the past 25 years, and have a degree in film and television production. Also a huge BTTF and 80’s/90’s movie fan. So things like this I totally relate to. Been following Adam pretty much since he started too, and live not far from him. I’ve been out to Cali maybe 12-15 times in my life doing various stuff for work and in my personal life, but I’ve never quite had the time to drive around to some movie locations like this. But I know this mall so well. Everything about (at least that side) it is burned into my memories from having watched the BTTF trilogy who knows how many times. The L.A. metro area, for obvious reasons, just has endless amounts of filming locations. So iconic, and some super obscure. In so many ways it would suit me to live there because of that, and make it easier for myself with my career. But I just don’t think I could handle such a big, crowded, expensive place. Having grown up in a rural town of only 1,800, the Orlando metro has been big enough for me, and I even get frustrated with it at times. But I was actually born on the west coast, and sometimes I feel draw to it. At some point I would like to visit Puente Hills Mall. Even if it’s nothing like it was in 1985.

I was living across the street from the Puente Hills Mall a year or two after BTTF was made and didn't realize they'd shot some of the scenes across the street until I saw the movie for the first time on VHS. I paused the cassette; ran outside; ran across the street and found the spot where the tires had been spinning. Thete was still a groove left in the ground and burnt rubber around the edges so I ran back home, grabbed an envelope and a razor and scraped up some of the rubber and put it in an envelope. I don't get that excited about filming locations anymore, I've been working at Universal Studios for a few years now. They film Greys Anatomy where I *live* and one of the locations from Terminator 2 is about two blocks from where I live.

You are able to see the Fudruckers yellow neon sign behind Doc at one point in the parking lot - 3:55 Puente Hills in the 80s was the place to be!! The Malibu Showboat was awesome 👌
