I was just there three weeks ago. I took the first pipeline and did hike all the way to the top. Amazing views. There is a road going towards the mine that leads up there but I haven’t found which one it is. I call the bottom the agate graveyard cause it’s everywhere and been split open many times.

Awesome, SoCal! Yeah, when you go down the mine road, it’s the 2nd right turn, also a pipeline road. I must’ve gone down that 1st road at least 5 or 6 times before I finally got it right. An awesome area. Glad to hear you know about it!💎

a lot of them are leaverites but you won't find out til you get them home and waste time cutting them.

That is fairly true. Some of them were quite plain inside and had to go to the rock pile.

Where exactly is Hector Hills?

Hi. Thanks for checking us out. The Hector Hills are a pretty big area. The spot I like is right off Hector Rd and Route 66, along a pipeline (dirt) road.

In what county/freeway, general area? Thanks again. My father and I do love to rockhound (not camp though) in the Mojave (just spent about 4 hours shlepping around earlier this morning, snagged a variety of silicon dioxides) but we have never even heard of the area. You don't need to share your exact sweetspot, my dad and I love to find our own.@@rockhoundingwithjasperblue

@@rosameryrojas-delcerro1059 I definitely don’t mind telling where my spots are. Especially that one. So you go about 30 miles or so east from Barstow, CA, down I-40. Then south on Hector road and a quick jog east on Route 66. (National Trails Hwy) Very soon you come to a wide well graded dirt road leading to a big mining operation. Go right, south, down that road past the 1st right turn and go down the 2nd right turn. That’s the pipeline road. A 4-wheel drive is recommended after that. That whole area can get a little sandy back in there. If you really want to go to that spot I could try to get a map up on here. Again the area is very extensive and a lot of material can be found all over in there.

@@rockhoundingwithjasperblue A stones throw southeast of Barstow, 🤣 gotcha. Thanks for the directions.

@@rosameryrojas-delcerro1059 just a couple more notes. I made a mistake. The pipeline road is the one you pass up to get to the road to the camp. And if you do get out there, there are snakes. I put a little PSA on my channel about that when I came up on a little sidewinder last time I was out there. Good luck!💎
