Bro. In case you don’t know… as of 5/1/2022. Mounted electronic devices at the bottom of the windshield is unlawful per DOT.

The endurant transmission is an Eaton Fuller and is exclusive to the cummins. You're either running the paccar 12 speed automated or the eaton fuller ultrashift. With it being prime, I wouldn't doubt it being the paccar automated simply because of the warranty success leasing wants to have on the trucks and the more streamlined communication between the engine and trans.

another note on this. From what I understand, the endurant was made to pair specifically with the X15 efficiency series.

It’s a paccar transmission for sure. Not sure what the difference is with it compared to the Eaton but they’re both endurant

I just got a 2024, pretty happy with it except all the dash buttons are placed in bizarre, awkward places. Like the 4 way flashers....the button is waaay down by your left knee, by the damn ignition. Idiotic placement. Oh, and i dont understand why my company installed my qualcomm so far away, its in exact same spot as yours. Ima have to reinstall it closer. Ive mostly driven Freightliners, love them, but Petes are superior in a few areas, like they handle the bumps better. Freightliner more comfortable though, i mean my Petes seats dont even have armrests. Gonna have to fix that. Also, no privacy curtain for the windshield. Petes are better than other trucks in some ways, inferior in others.

We had a KW in our fleet with the shitty Eaton 18 speed automatic and it was dreadful... you could mature blue cheese before it decided to shift, so you always had to manually shift which improved it marginally. In contrast the 540 horse Volvo with it's dual clutch auto is brilliant... seemless fast gearshifts ...

Pulls better than any truck I’ve driven, but obviously nothing crazy. I’ve never used the built in GPS tbh but I’ve messed around. Gives you several route options at a time and you can set it up for what you pull specifically. You’ll most likely enjoy it when you get it 😂

I enjoy your videos very much - very informative. I'd like to see what your right foot does while "shifting" through the gears from a stop. Do you always have to let up a little on the accelerator ? . . or, if you hold it to the floor, will it upshift without raising your foot off ? . . . that's what it looked like when it went from 11th to 12th. ( I haven't been in a tractor-trailer since the seventies - BIG changes now !!! )

You can manipulate the transmission by raising your foot around the point you want it to shift. No it’s not necessary, but a force of habit I had from my old truck. Software updates have made my Peterbilt even better

@@GoldPhoenix That's interesting, I was an owner operator in 1976 with a 1971 GMC Astro 95 13 speed - these new trucks are SO much nicer today. I would have loved to have an automatic back then, but there were few and VERY expensive. So, is it recommended by the manufacturer to lift your foot or can you just hold the accelerator to the floor from a stop, if you're going up a hill or getting on to the Interstate ? I'd like to see you do that in a video. I think your viewers might like for you to talk about this subject sometime. THANKS for the information.

@@chadmark88 you can definitely hold your foot. The truck won’t do more than it has to do to get up to speed and makes majority of its power in the lower RPM range anyway. Some are better than others but I love the endurant 12 speed so far

What average mpg you getting with truck? Is engine brake strong? I’m thinking about getting new Pete 578 or new kenworth 680 I’m not sure should I go with paccar engine and transmission or Cummins and Eaton auto ?

If you’re going owner op I’d probably recommend Cummins for the shop network over paccar. I like the paccar as a motor but getting work done is a pain, but that aside I tend to average right around 9mpg

For that TPMS error, my freightliner was throwing a weird error in the QC as I drove, every like 10 minutes. I was chasing the issue for weeks. It was an issue with the factory TPMS clashing with the software that prime had flashed. If you have the same issue like I did that’s prob close to what I was dealing with.

It seems I only have that issue if I’m shut down for an extended period of time and the Qualcomm turns off. Other than that it’s not a constant thing

It has hill descent it just works differently. If I set cruise to 33 for example it’ll hold at 35

If it’s programmed to shut down a shop would just need to turn that off. Other than that mine personally keeps running if it’s above 80° outside of below 20°

You could also use Cruise Select to set the idle at a certain rpm.
