You keep making me add knives to the list that I want for my collection. I love the knives you review, and the way you do it. Thanks for another great one.

Thanks for opening my eyes to such a fantastic knife. Also, what I like about your videos is the important history. Really terrific.

A wonderful knife. I love the sense of history, and in some ways prefer it's looks to it's more exotic siblings. The true beauty of the basic design shines through here. Yet another fantastic look at French knives, thanks Stefan, your efforts are very much appreciated.

Ah! Knifemaking before marketing - and it was marketing that gave collectors the reason to collect. Another very cool, nuanced video, Herr Doktor. When can we expect at least one or two reviews of tactical beverages and bread? Es ist die Saison für das Essen, nachdem alle! Vielen Dank für das Video treat!

No, I'm sure I couldn't tell them apart if there wasn't the company logo somewhere on the blade. Fontenille Pataud, Forge de Laguiole, Honore Durand, Laguiole en Aubrac and a dozen other traditional French cutlery companies do some outstanding work. Their handmade knives are usually all very well manufactured.

So I’ve recently been looking at buying a laguiole en aubrac and see that come with certificates of authenticity and some don’t what’s your thoughts on certificates and did your aubrac come with them or is It just a gimmick
@StefanSchmalhaus3 жыл бұрын
Of course, manufacturers and retailers want to reassure their customers that their products are authentic. But in the end, a certificate is just a piece of paper. Frankly, I don't care much about certificates. I only buy from trustworthy retailers. Admittedly, I'm in a privileged position because as a journalist for a German knife magazine, I know many manufacturers and retailers personally. My advice is to only buy from authorized retailers. And if you are in doubt ask the manufacturer if it is safe to buy from retailer XYZ.

Nice vid as always. - Thanks for 3 reasons: I have to confess, that I never took a liking in Laguiole-knifes because of the hype in general and the handle-shape in particular. (Latent misogyny?) So the Ancestral offers an appealing alternative. 2. The link to Brandners Webshop. 3. Visiting their webside, I found an Laguiole en Aubrac with a scallop symbol instead of a bee, which reconciles with the ugly handle shape. - Loking foreward for your new vids!
