Good one. I like it when the story isn't so heavily focused on the shrewish 304. It's nice to see the focus on the comeback and redemption of the victim.

David let his little head do his thinking for his big head. Cathy was a walking red flag from the first moment he met her to the very end. Everything he went through was Davids own fault. At least he did come out ok in the end.

I am not 20 minutes into this story. All I can say is when someone tells/shows you who they really are BELIEVE THEM!!!!!!!!!! I know of a "Cathy" who is from a rather prominent Atlanta Family that for legal reasons I won't identify. Today this person would be about 60. I first met her while I was attending Georgia Tech. She went through several of my classmates over the time I was attending GT. I can't get too deep into the things she did because to do so I would get this comment removed. Just know she was human trash. I was just a poor dumb country boy to her so I was not somebody she went after. I do know she destroyed the son of a Macon Attorney over some false allegations. That guy was forced to drop out of GT and he finally was able to get in at Virginia Tech his mom's alma mater. Sometime around the year 2000 she finally hit her Waterloo and her family was not able to help her. Last I heard she was living near Charleston SC and not doing well. The blowback from her actions in 2000 was so bad it cost her family a lot of money and public humiliation. I can't get confirmation, but I have been told she is living with a man who openly cheats on her.

David was stupid to even propose to Cathy's crazy butt. She showed him who she really was, and he let it slide. Then he hears making plans while they are on vacation. She leaves him while on vacation, and he stays. Clearly, he doesn't use his brain. Her people weren't even worried about her, that should've been his first clue she left him

His first impression was correct. His scolding of her behavior in response to her inappropriate slander at the meeting was correct. His performance and acceptance of his high value at the meeting was correct. Believe people when they show you who they are. When she played games to get his attention at the end of the meeting, he should have seen it for what it was, and shut her down completely and left the meeting room. For as long as they would be on a project together, he would remain polite and professional. He could have avoided all of the stress, betrayal, and wasted time, talent, treasure, and energy, expended on this immature narcissist. The rant in the intro...she should have loved him so much that she wanted to be with him. Instead, she was attacking him for wanting her to be with him. Guys, your internal warning systems catch these red flags. Stop ignoring them!

Sadly, I dealt with this issue with my 1st wife. We had a child, so I ignorantly stayed. After she had cheated for over a year behind my back, I brought my affairs home for her to watch; so as to punish her. Not gonna lie, I was an a$$hole about it. After 5 years, we agreed to a divorce. During our seperation, she got pregnant by another man. I live in Michigan, so sadly I had to pay 19 years of child support on that spawn even though I had DNA evidence he wasn't mine. Michigan is a womans state. A couple years after our divorce, I met another woman. She knew my story and I told her I had a zero tolerance policy on cheating, she agreed and we got married a year later. 6 months after that, her youngest son let something slip and I confronted her about it. At first she denied, but then she finally told me he was her old school sweetheart. I left the state 12 hours later and had my marriage annulled. I have been single since, except for a few hookups through the years. This was almost 20 years ago.

This guy is a VP at his company? With how he handles his fiance, let's hope his business acumen is better than his relationship acumen. Listening to him navigate figuring out what's going on, Is painful. She's an a-hole, he sure didn't help himself though. I understand he got revenge on his ex-fiance, however, he could have avoided himself a bunch of pain if he had paid more attention when her cheating was going on. The amount of disrespect she showed him, was painful to listen to.

VP just means you head a division and got that from his degree at Wharton. He was obviously headhunted right out of school , rose quickly in a very small division, but generally hated NY skanks, so what did he do wrong? What should he have done that would have made his life any better than the one he built?
