I love this. I’m trying to do a handstand. Unfortunately injured my shoulder. Did physio and then started back only to re injure it. I think I was missing trace minerals and salt in my diet. Hoping this recovery will last so really listening and stopping when anything hurts. The kids are inspirational but you are that with a good measure of wisdom . So important as we age!

Thanks! I hope your shoulder recovers quickly. As far as the handstand, I'd try to build to it very slowly. You can spend time in a pike pushup position with your feet elevated (like in the thumbnail) - that gets your shoulders into a handstand-like position, but with less weight. That kind of thing is a good way to build capacity.

So glad I found you. I don’t know that it’s so much age related as it is you’re just an intense individual. I say that with all respect as I’ve seen many young athletes severely injured themselves. Overuse injuries can take years. In my opinion we progress slower but steadier by training less frequently, with less sets and not always to failure. What do you think?

I'm sure that everything you're saying is true. But I do think it's also age related. It seems like I get injured much more quickly now (including new injuries), and I seem to heal much more slowly than I used to.

I'm an aging calisthenics warrior and I've developed a "catch" in my shoulder. I believe it's related to the biceps tendon thanks to your videos on the subject! After watching your videos, I've realized this is not good. I back-off to allow for healing, and then carry on again when the time is right. So far, so good. Your videos gave me the caution I'd otherwise not have had. So, thanks for that! 🙏

Welcome back! I am nearly 43 and luckily free of injuries for now. I do light calisthenics and appreciate the wisdom and experience you share. I find it difficult to judge when I'm pushing myself to a healthy degree versus a feeling of holding back too much from fear of injury. Regardless, hoping your recovery continues smoothly!

just today I remember your channel and that I haven't herd of you in along time and you post this! I'm 52 and attempting bar muscle ups I have injure my left shoulder 4 months ago...I stoped and come back to work out a couple of times since then, but I still have pain and discomfort. Therefore I really appreciate if you post your rehabilitation exercises and workouts for the shoulders to follow them and prevent a surgery! thanks in advance ! José

Yeah, I'd really like to do that. But honestly - right now I'm not so confident that I know how to rehab my shoulders. One thing I'm pretty sure about: skills that involve putting a lot of force on your body in unusual positions (like muscle ups) get much harder as you get older!

Way to go, Rob. Congratulations on the successful surgery, physical therapy, quick recovery, new job, and new video. As I mentioned to you before, based on one of your previous videos, I reconsidered my breakfast habits, and now I don’t eat anything before noon. Daughter R. no longer calls me “bald and fat”. Now it’s only “bald”. Do you have exercises to regrow hair? Thanks much for making the videos. It’s also great you’re getting back into juggling. As you likely know, there are several fests that happen in California, and the IJA is next July in Green Bay, which I’m planning to attend. Hopefully one day we’ll put together a juggling act and call it “…. and Weiser”. Please fill in the “….”. Cheers.- Michael/Carlio
