Sad to see all the hate Kirk gets. He's probably the most successful metal lead guitarist in the world. I don't think he's ever let it change him, he's always seemed so kind and soft hearted. The world could use more of that. Dude is 60 and still jamming. Let's see how you're holding up at 60. Like him or not, his legacy and influence will live on forever.

It's easy to hate, specially in social media, where no one sees you. If they were face to face with him, they would just kiss is ass and ask for a picture or anything.
@scottdaugherty8065

I agree with ya Bad and like Bruno's comment as well. Kirk's easy to make fun of I think. Metallica is an easy target. But they have sold millions of albums and sold out show after show so someone is buying, listening and going to shows correct??!!! I loved Metallica up to the Black album. Then not to much at that point. What Lars did to In Justice was just ludicrous. So i stopped buying their music and going to shows but that's just me. Now I think they all gel great together, have chemistry and write good music. Great music? Hell no. But they are solid. Kirk's playing fits the band, the music, the style etc. People just hate to hate. But Kirk is a hell of a nice guy to the fans. He seems very down to earth. (Kinda seems like a stoner?) I obviously don't know the man but have meet him 3 times and seen a lot of the backstage videos that are out for all to see. He's like a very nice modern hippy. So they can make fun of him or the whole band if they want but they are all very successful and their job was doing what they love to do.

Rockstars look like party people who seemingly just drink and get high and screw. But you don't get to be a rockstar without a through-the-roof work ethic. Hendrix practiced every moment he was awake. Van Halen practiced 10 hours a day. Randy Rhodes never came outside because he was always practicing. We had a concert pianist in my neighborhood named Brian Ganz and when all us kids were drinking and socializing he was inside his house ALWAYS playing his piano with his nose to the grindstone. So, after these guys make it to the big time they have EARNED whatever indiscretions they partake in. Hammet looks like a party waiting to happen but he realized the golden opportunity to have Satriani teach him and now Hammet is a God just like Satriani. People with that kind of work ethic excel at ANYTHING they put their minds toward.

@@stevenfuhriejr7689 Bro I could not agree more. Kirk is a skilled talented guitar player. The best no, awesome no, great hell yes but his chemistry with the other members is on point. Now ask yourself what if Dave Mustaine was left in the band? I think Dave is a great player as well but would of been a different sounding band. My opinion that is. I think Kirk's sound and playing fit Metallica far better than Dave's playing but I've heard and seen Dave play harder and more intricate pieces of music. I know Dave was really hurt when kicked out of Metallica but it pushed him into becoming a better player and writing some kick ass music. And on the flip side Kirk was a far better fit for Metallica and his sound and playing on their songs far better. We got two great bands and it had a lot to do with chemistry.
