Back bone has an iPad and pc/mac set up you place it on your phone go to the settings and there should be an option one chosen the back bone button should turn blue. Then when you go plug it to the iPad you can connect it to the bottom port of thr controller thtat you would use for charge when the phone is in an Apple sells a lightning to usb cord its on their site i got mines

Use the cord that comes with the iPhone 12. Plug the lighting port into the backbone and the type c into the iPad Pro or air. It works in both of mine

doesn’t work for me and i’ve tried like 3 different original apple usb c to lighting cables. the light turns on when i plug it in but turns right back off. even trying to adjust the setting in the backbone app to ipad still no luck.

I think this is only possible if you have their Backbone+ subscription in order to use that other screen feature. This solution presented in the video is actually pretty cool

I just wish they had made it so you did not need to remove phone cases with it. I love it but I use the otter box on my phone which is a pain to remove it to play the games. Other than that I am having a blast playing games with it, I actually cancelled my steam deck order as I can do pretty much what I planned on doing with the steam deck. Yes I know there are things you can do with the stark deck you can’t with this plus resolution is great, but I honestly do not need all of that extra.

Very informative video! I am really curious if the input delay is also decreased because the controller is connected by a wire? For example i was playing cod mobile with a regular PS4 bluetooth controller and it worked pretty fine but there is a slight input delay because of it beeing wireless... it works on 5g? and latency isn’t noticeable to me. remote play warzone and other demanding ps5 games with no issues. and all the new iphone cords that are lightning to usbc work fine with ipads

You absolutely could if you owned a second controller which is a plausible solution for people who already own a system. More casual gamers might not and this could be their one-stop shop to game on multiple “systems” with one controller.

Once everything is set up, you pair the ipad with bluetooth controller, then launch remote play, and you use the one ps5 remote for remote play on ipad wirelessly. I mean technically any wireless bluetooth controller works. Your solution is commendable, but its like inventing a flashlight powered by the sun … sorry .. no offense intended

I don't understand how you were able to get to the game hub ? Where you see the backbone app fully opened and you can see your games. My iPad says "connect backbone to controller" no matter what I do. I can't get to the hub like you did. What in the Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets is this magic? Lol, I meant iPad. According to what I found on Backbone's website, the 'Play On Any Screen' feature, which includes using your USB-C Backbone game controller to play games on a Mac, PC, or iPad, is not available yet. If you don't have an Android phone, it might not work because you need to connect the controller to the Android app so that it can be updated. "While our Play On Any Screen feature isn’t ready for Android quite yet, we expect this feature to be introduced to the Backbone Android App in the near future."

The cable mentioned in the video was for lightning-based iPads and if I understand correctly, you have a USB-C iPad Pro 2021. Is this correct? If so, you should be able to connect a Lightning to USB-C cable to the controller (lightning) and to your iPad.

Essentially, you need to plug in the same cable used to charge an iPhone via USB-C. The USB-C side goes into your iPad and the lightning side goes into the bottom of the controller.

Because it had nothing to do with putting the iPad into the backbone. You can connect tons of controllers with the iPad, makes you think the video will show you how to attach the iPad to the backbone to hold not to sit on a stand, then it takes forever to get to the point that it requires a dongle.
