i would not recommend you load it lightning port first, that's a great way to bend the connector. Start with the opposite end of the phone and insert the lightning port last.

Public service announcement/warning: The Backbone now has a $50 yearly subscription for the app to have functionality. They do not state the cost it anywhere on their website or app store. You get the first year free then need to pay yearly. Its basically a $100 controller unless you want to cough up the extra $50 yearly. I would recommend staying away and waiting for the upcoming Razer Kishi V2 (has a free app called Razer Nexus). Edit: Some people seem confused by this comment - The Controller still has functionality without the subscription (minus the screenshot button and Backbone button). As I say above the subscription is for the app. The Backbone app is what makes this device worth it over a Dualsense controller or Razer Nexus V2. Both of these devices offer more features at a significantly cheaper price. This is why I warn you about the hidden subscription and recommend other products if you do not intend on paying the subscription cost - It doesn't make sense to pay more and receive less.

@@maxcruz5936 Without the app it is advertised with its basically a $100 controller without the bluetooth, haptic feedback, adaptive triggers of a dualsense. In the case of just using it as a controller a dualsense with a $10 clip for your device will give you more those features (like vibration) at 30% less of the cost. It doesn't make sense to pay more and receive less.

You actually don't need fast internet... Unless you're away from your home. If you're in your home, your PS5 and Phone just need to be connected to the same WiFi, even mobile hotspot works.

The problem with these "controllers" is that it's entire functionality relies on the specific port that it uses. USB and ports tends to change a lot, so your device, which you paid good money for, is likely to be outdated/archaic and not useable for future phones - unlike cables which you can just change for a small fee. Either they provide a guarantee for changing the port for you - or you are looking at the prospect of paying for a new backbone every time (which I am sure is what they'd like you to do).

What I personally don’t like is that it only works if it senses your PlayStation near by so you can only use it near or around your home and if your already home and you can play it on your console why would u want to play it on mobile? I could understand if you wanted to take it on a trip or something and be able to play on a trip that you clearly can’t take your system with you but if you have to be near your system to use it to me it makes 0 sense to have it. Unless I missed something I don’t see the reason

Just buy the portable ps5 controller insignia makes(couple others make em also) I was gonna get this but playing a switch made me remember how I dont like the feel, I had the ps4 portable mount...way cheaper and it feels right unlike this contraption(ordered the ps5 portable mount 20$ cad)

This is just too good to flex, but believe me, in reality, the remote play has a slight delay even if you are in fibr internet. The concept is good, but the actual gameplay is not the same as when connected to a monitor.
