Heading to site #27 in two weeks. Sunsets look impressive. Wondering how long it took from put-in to campsite?

Hi Martin, I think you met my wife in town the other day commenting on our truck. Seems like we share a passion for backcountry canoeing. Keep at it with the videos! Ken of kgdblade

I sure did - great videos, Ken! Glad to have met her.

@@radillac7 Hey Martin, one of our advantages in our area is our climate and we get to be the first off the mark to do an ice-breaker canoe day trip. Lets keep our eyes on R. Canard ice out in late Feb and shoot for a first Ice Breaker paddle of 2021 - good idea? Would be a fun joint video shoot. email: kengdrouillard@gmail.com (I'll edit my contact out after 24 h)..Ken

@@radillac7 I haven't paddled it. I know it though.

It’s my favourite place to paddle in the area. You should check it out before winter sets in!

best part you don't need a gove camp site there as it's mostly crown land, shit Martin, being a Parent your probably metis- you don't even need a rod a gill-net will suffice ;)

How long was the portage ?
@radillac72 жыл бұрын
I think it was only about 400m and fairly straightforward

What was in the cheesy curry?
@radillac73 жыл бұрын
Onions, green peppers, and cubes of soft cheese in a butter curry sauce. We enjoyed it with some toasted naan. I picked it up at Metro - just heat it up and enjoy. I think it’s called Paneer Tikka by Kitchens of India

Site 27 on Lennon lake

@@radillac7 Did you get a good look at site 24? Can't tell how close together the sites are but from your video, it looked really quiet and private. Any bugs?
@radillac73 жыл бұрын
@@CdnAshley The mosquitoes were a bit harsh, but would not have been such a problem had it not been for the cool, moist weather we encountered. Site 24 looked very nice, and was very private. Lots of wildlife around that area. We saw and heard several loons on that section of river and spotted four or five beavers. There is a fishing camp on the widening of the river east of site 24 that takes its boats into Lennon lake and to the narrows beyond but they didn't bother us. An elderly couple was camped on site 18 and claimed the site was overgrown and that they could barely find a spot for their tent. I'd stick to the sites west of the portage.
